San, thanks for the update. You know what's so weird, there's nothing really odd or out of control in Doug's behavior if you read what actually happened. He was 'visibly upset' but not yelling, raging, throwing things or acting out. When you read the headlines they use words like 'Bitter, angry, storming' but those are just the article writers spinning the facts to get more hits on their site. It bugs me. Not just because I know and like Doug, but because it's stupid, immature, judgmental and destructive no matter who it is directed at. I feel for him. I just hope the show's editing doesn't make him out to be angry, bitter, etc. So much meaning can be twisted and lost when things are taken out of context.

I hope for a good edit too.
However, for so many of the contestants of the show - this is not the case. Tptb live for drama and will show it whenever possible. Still keeping my fingers crossed here.

I suspect the situation is being highly exaggerated by the mag to make it sound more "interesting" and a much bigger deal than it actually was. Pure speculation on my part, but I imagine Emily knew that she wasn't interested in Doug (may even have only kept him after their date in Bermuda because the producers wanted the "sweet single dad" to stick around longer) and as a mom herself, knew she needed to send him home before HTDs. She may have struggled to come up with a good reason, and, especially if there hadn't been much physical affection between them on their 1 on 1 or since, it was suggested to her by producers that she use that as an excuse to Doug, ie, "you haven't kissed me or anything". So while here Doug thought he was being respectful with Emily (probably because they didn't really have enough immediate chemistry to merit any kissing), now it's being implied that he did something wrong by not being more aggressive (which I'm sure she didn't really want in the first place). Of course the producers are also going to encourage him to vent any frustrations in his exit comments, so I'm guessing what he said was more him voicing his confusion about what he saw as mixed signals from Emily.

I hope Doug has a good support system surrounding him. I think all these contestants have to decompress after going on this show. It has to be really stressful and at the same time life changing.
Thanks for sharing your insights about Doug with us. We really appreciate it.

Great post Vision! I am excited to see what Doug is like. He has always been a favorite of mine. I think he is the best looking guy so far! JMO

We know this is Doug.
This was a tweet on M&G night~
I wonder if this is related.
The night turns more emotional when another single dad brings her a heartwarming letter from his 11-year-old son.
