From foursomes to lewd texts and sex addiction, why sex is Shane Warne’s greatest downfall

SHANE Warne, the infamous Australian womaniser, has been caught at it again – allegedly keeping his neighbours awake after a noisy foursome at his £2.7million mews home in London.

Apparently two women — later identified as sex workers Davina, 19, and Poppy, 27 — joined the 49-year-old and his lover for a two-hour sex session, which was extremely vocal.

But just why does the sportsman keep finding himself in such sticky situations?

We spoke to experts who pinpoint possible reasons behind Warne's bed-hopping, with one suggesting feeling of self-doubt might be plaguing the Aussie star.

"Often top sportsmen and women are obsessive types and have been driven into a consistent focus and drive to achieve more by a childhood where they were led to believe they were 'not good enough',” explains leading UK Sports Performance Mind Coach Nick Davies.

"To feel 'good enough' they feel they have to get to the top of their chosen sport and spend their lives attempting to achieve this, with periods where they feel low or depressed as they experience the knockbacks as with any endeavour.

"Addiction is often seen as a 'moving towards pleasure' behaviour but in my experience, it's mostly a 'moving away from pain' activity.

"So they seek solace in activities such as risky sex, pornography, but also drink, drugs and gambling."

Marian O’Connor, head of psychosexual training at Tavistock Relationships, believes that sex addiction could stem from a lack of love – probably best not to tell Warne's long-suffering ex-wife Simone about that one.

"Some people just never have a sense of being soothed when they were younger," she explains.

"Perhaps as children they were never picked up when they were crying, and consequently they’re always looking to be soothed and satisfied through sex, but just end up wanting more and more."

He may not have been cuddled enough as a baby, but Warne's certainly made up for lost time since.

Dirty calls and lewd texts

Warne married model Simone Callahan in 1995 and they had three children together, Brooke, now 22, Jackson, 20, and Summer, 17.

But the cricketer struggled to keep it in his pants, with Brit nurse Donna Wright claiming he’d harassed her with dirty phone calls and lewd texts in 2000 after she met him in a Leicester club.

He apparently begged her to head back to his hotel room and even shoved his key in her back pocket.

His antics led to him losing the Australian vice-captaincy.

Simone stood by him but three years later South African Helen Cohen Alon accused Warne of bombarding her with text messages, just months after he’d been banned from cricket for failing a drug test.

Cohen Alon told Johannesburg's Sunday Times that the cricketer "continued to send her raunchy phone messages after she told him she would not have sex with him while he was married".

She also claimed that Warne once phoned her 40 times after a party, saying he "wanted her" – it seems for the star, the thrill really is in the chase.

A sexting obsession can show someone has a fear of closeness and they use texts to maintain a barrier.

For others it becomes a hyperactive thing, sending message after message becomes a compulsion as they're desperate to feel close to someone – this could feed back into Warne never feeling good enough.

As if that humiliation wasn’t enough, Melbourne stripper Angela Gallagher then spoke of her wild nights with the cricketer after meeting him at a lap dancing spot, The Men’s Club. She alleged he’d convinced her he had an open marriage.


Obsession with sex

In 2005, Warne was offered the captaincy of Hampshire and Simone thought a fresh start in the UK might be what they needed.

But no sooner had they unpacked their suitcases than fresh allegations emerged of Shane having begged English student Laura Sayers for sex.

In a newspaper interview she gave after leaving him, Simone said: "I was in shock, I was numb.

"I said to him: 'How could you be so stupid?' I just couldn't believe he'd done it again."

Warne tried his best to win back Simone, but more stories followed of a four-month fling with TV assistant Michelle Masters – who was apparently a regular visitor to the cricketer's Southampton flat.

Then came claims of a steamy two-month fling with mum-of-three Kerrie Collimore, which included the pair having sex on the bonnet of the sport star's BMW in a display of exhibitionism on his part.

It didn’t help that he accidentally sent Simone a saucy text meant for a different woman too.

Simone believed her husband was addicted to sex and urged him to get treatment for his "mental or physical problem".

While Warne himself refused to label his behaviour that way, he met the former England captain Michael Vaughan ahead of the launch of his autobiography, No Spin, in 2018 and admitted: “I do [love sex]. It's true.

"If I didn't love sex that much I probably wouldn't have got myself in half the trouble I have."


Wild threesomes

Simone and Warne divorced in 2005 and being single freed Warne up for all sorts of sexual shenanigans.

In his book, No Spin, he wrote about having a threesome with 25-year-old Coralie Eichholtz and her friend MTV host, Emma Kearney, also 25, in 2006.

He claimed Coralie sent him a text saying, “you should be here with me”, followed by a photo of her and Emma kissing each other.

After the trio had sex, Warne left the apartment at 2.30am and drove to the cricket ground.


Porn stars, models and a very famous face

Warne started flirting publicly with Liz Hurley in 2010 and they got engaged a year later, but allegations of a 2011 fling with porn star Chloe Conrad threw the relationship a curve ball.

Shortly after, Hurley tweeted: "Happy Valentine's Day! Remember, love is like a rollercoaster ride — sometimes it's exhilarating but sometimes you feel sick and want to get off."

Warne and Hurley managed to move past the allegations, staying together until their split in late 2013.

The following year, Shane began a short relationship with former Playboy model Emily Scott and was seen on a night out with the singer and model Sophie Monk.


Constant womanising

In 2014, it looked likely Hurley and Warne would reconcile, especially after they spent the Valentine’s Day weekend together in her Herefordshire mansion and London townhouse.

But then it emerged that Warne had spent four hours in millionaire underwear mogul Michelle Mone’s hotel room just a day after their Valentine’s Day tryst.

Apparently the Australian visited newly single Mone at lunchtime, taking champagne and roses to her £500-a-night eighth-floor suite.

In her autobiography My Flight To The Top, Mone revealed the cricketer had spent two months prior to that hotel hook-up texting her and she’d finally agreed to meet him — but quickly realised he was only after one thing.

She wrote: "I made it clear that I was not that kind of girl. He was a bit too wild for me."

Mone needn’t have worried.

Warne quickly moved on, this time using dating apps to facilitate his voracious appetite and setting his sights on Aussie single mother, Kim McGrath, 43, in 2015.

Kim revealed to Woman's Day that she hooked up with Shane after the pair matched on Tinder.

She claimed that she and Shane had a wild romp, with Shane asking her "to stand in the corner in her high heels while he spanked her" before the cricket ace encouraged her to try a few "porno" style moves.


Younger women

Warne is attracted to women of all ages, but he clearly has a penchant for those a fair few years younger than him – this is often the case for guys who like having their egos tickled.

In early 2016, 24-year-old Simone Toon claimed she met Warne — then 46 — on the website richsugardaddies.com.

The busty model said Warne sent pictures of his manhoood before saying he wanted to "whip and spank" her.
