Yes Peter, we get it! You are very emotional and fall in love easily. This word ‘ soulmate’ is so overused IMO. Because you meet someone that you lust after or find attractive in that kind of environment, does not constitute a ‘ soulmate’ connection IMO. Not even all the people we love are necessarily soulmates’ .
It’s a term that is now spread out to anyone without consideration of its roots.
It refers to two people who are meant to be together because they have agreed on a spiritual level to continue sharing their love and growth before they were in this lifetime. I know it’s not a concept that everyone understands or agree with but that’s where this term is coming from. It’s a deep, almost magical recognition of someone we are tied with that further our individual and mate’s spiritual evolution. There are several markers to distinguish those and I am not gonna get into it here, but you are welcome to look it up...
They are NOT very likely a quick affair that burns OFF in a few weeks or months.
That said, I believe there are MORE than one suitable partner for us to love and grow with. They may not be a ‘ soulmate ‘ connection, and it’s still completely valid and beautiful.

I agree, both with what you say about the origin of the term and how overused (and therefore meaningless) it is.

It's become a cliche along with 'journey' 'my truth' 'clarity' and a dozen other buzzwords they spew out on this show that had real meaning and origin, but now mean nothing. At least in terms of this show, anyway.

Is it impossible that true soulmates can find their way to each other on this show? Nope. Is it likely? Also nope. The statistics bear that out. And I see zero indication of the love story Peter has talked about in his marketing interviews so far. This is not a Sean and Catherine situation. It is a mess. If I was Madi seeing Peter's continued defense of VF I'd be out of there if I wasn't already.

@Sprite  I was trying really hard to give him the benefit of the doubt, despite what we already knew of him and his tenure on Hannah B. Boy! Did I get disappointed...over and over. . YES , the guy ‘wears his emotions on his sleeves ‘ but they’re falling all over..  Seriously, good to know you have emotions, but that DOESN’T mean you have any emotional intelligence apparently, which he seems to have... close to none IMO!
Thus this chapter with VF shows how much of a mess he is and how blind he can be. He’d rather listen to the multiple lies from a woman that avoids eye contact, deflect any responsibility for her actions, blames anything and anyone ELSE for her poor decision making, plays the victim and pouts to seek rewards etc... THAN an actual girlfriend he dated for 5 months in REAL life as opposed to that toxic bubble of wannabes. I give up and have little trust on any of his future relationships. He’s got a ton of growing up to do and has to BECOME a MAN before he finds any ‘ soulmate’ level connection.

2 nd bolded...saw a meme today that said...This season's cast of Bachelor was so bad that no one from the cast could be a viable choice for Bachelorette, BUT....no one from this decade.

I think Clare may be a breath of fresh air....back to the love story people.

I think whether or not future seasons have love stories will largely depend on the producers. If they just treat the new lead as they have in recent seasons I’m not sure how much difference an older lead will make. (Not knowing anything about Clare I’m not commenting on her specifically at all.) A more mature, not necessarily older, lead and contestants and a whole lot less drama are probably needed for successful relationships to happen. I do give those relationships that have worked out a lot of credit though. Sometimes adversity really brings out the best in people and they end up in a strong relationship.

When the show casts leads, even likable ones, that are rather unskilled in relationships AND horrible contestants AND throws in tons of manufactured drama it’s no wonder the recent seasons are having trouble resulting in good relationships. I’m thinking specifically of HB and likely Peter. If the show continues in this vein I think it will work itself off the air eventually. Or, the viewer demographic will change a lot. Personally I don’t like seeing people get hurt and exploited so I will go back to not watching the show once Peter’s season is over. jmo
