BACHELOR 23 - Colton Underwood - General Discussion - **NO SPOILERS** - *SLEUTHING*

I'm hoping a few more people post on here. I think some may have taped the show and still have not watched. At least I hope so. I don't know how long I will stay unspoiled if it is totally dead in here, but I doesn't look much more lively in the spoiled threads, so that isn't much of an incentive. I'm hoping to last at least 3 or 4 episodes.

I'll join! Watched most of it yesterday. My goodness were those live watch parties exhausting to watch. Never. Again. The only part I liked was the babies segment.

As for the actual first night, I think Colton genuinely made an effort to be engaged in each conversation, but he makes me uncomfortable with how try-hard he is. Hopefully that will dissipate in future episodes. I preferred last year's cast to this one--it's just a tad bit difficult to pretend that all these 23 year olds have any interest at all in settling down , as you have mentioned. We also hardly saw any of them.

Off the top of my head, I can only remember a few. Catherine, obviously. Honestly cannot see her past her lips. She legitimately looks 2x her age. I saw a picture of her from a few years back and she was beautiful. It's tragic. Anyways, she just played the ridiculously overused trope of interrupt fourteen thousand times and ugh...can TPTB really not think of any better storylines??

I also remember Miss North Carolina/Miss Underwood, I think? Caelynn? Also has somewhat distracting lips. I'm not really into the pageant-types. I'm not loving her yet.

Speaking of pageant girls, Hannah B. She's too much for me. So saccharine--I can't tell if it's fake or if it's just her, but I can't deal with her either way. Girl needs to chill.

Demi, her mother went to federal prison for embezzlement, yes? I laughed hard at that. This is weird, but I like her. She has villain potential, but in a more subtly and sneaky way. Someone said that she looks like she would poison you in your sleep. Fascinating and scary to me.

Hannah Godwin, "content creator," FIR winner. She looks like a 15 year old. (Same with Demi, actually.) I don't have much of an opinion of her yet.

Cassie, who would be my pick for F1. She seems sweet and relatively low cringe, and I heard that romantic music playing for her. Colton was into her IMO. Hopefully she won't end up like Vanessa though who thoroughly exhausted me by the end of Nick's season. I'm waiting for the other shoe to drop quite frankly, because she seems too good to be true.

Can't remember any others at the moment. I was very unimpressed overall, but fingers crossed it'll improve.

@Enchantress Pretty much agreed with everything you said.

I hope they never do this type of night one again. It was annoying with all the fans screeching and the random proposals of people we didn't know or care about. Not to mention with all the old fame hos out there hosting and looking for another 15 minutes of fame.

I would have much preferred that extra time was devoted to us getting to know his contestants more, although, truth be told, I can't see that being all that much more interesting since most of them seem to be 23/24 years old and pageanty.

I hope it picks up in the next few episodes.

I’m so happy to see all the posts. Will catch up when I can. I haven’t even watched yet because of the college football championship game and I've been too busy. We’re downsizing and our house went on the market Monday PM and we've had 7 showings already with 3 more coming up. There may be am offer coming in so I'm off looking at houses this afternoon just in case. So much for the slow market.

Hello All!  Another unspoiled viewer this season. Glad to see a few of us here.  I am going to give Colton and his young ladies the benefit of the doubt for a few weeks.  I like not knowing the outcome much more than being spoiled. If some stay and I can discuss the show I am going to try and make it here until the end

Just watched the show this weekend.  It seems we all agree on Cassie and Hannah (FIR) - too funny and maybe a first around here!  There were a couple others I thought were nice but didn't see enough of any of the girls to gauge personalities.  After 3 hours I expected to know all 30 life stories, however TPTB had other plans for my time.

WAY TOO MUCH of Bach Nation.  I agree, they are all there trying to stay relevant.  It is nice to be updated on the couples that have 'made it' but everyone else - go away - PLEASE.  If I am interested, I can surely find you on Instagram or Twitter!

It is going to take a few episodes for me to get vested in this season.  When it gets down to about 10 girls then I start to analysis the different relationships.  I am wondering if this season is going to be an obvious one with Hannah as F1, if there will be a dark horse that isn't reveled until near the end, or if he ends up with no one.

I don't usually watch live because can't stand waiting on the commercials or the silliness, so I will be back in a few days to check in!!

Hi Everyone, long time no see. Its been more than  a year since I was on this site and for that matter even watched the show it seem to me. Missed you all.

I loved the recap of the Bachelor Families - the kids  and babies are so cute !!! Trista's son Max "I thought they met in College" . Anyone know where the Lowe's were  ?
I'd have like to see more of an update from Des and Chris. Molly talking about the new lead being handsome and chiseled and Jason's reaction . Loved that.

The rest of the show was really too much filler. The hot tub couple (Goose ???) appeared cringe worthy.

I don't particularly like Colton but find him Vanilla enough to watch. I like the girls that came for him. For the most part I did not find anyone over annoying and they seemed to get on pretty well in Episode1 all things considered. The Dog lady has had too much work done on her face. What makes these young girls even think that stuff is necessary ? Yuck.
I'm with all of you on thinking that the front runners are the FIR girl Hannah and  Cassie the speech pathologist who got the good music though obviously that may just be an editing trick to throw us. Based on past seasons,  the FIR does not get F1 on The Bachelor so just with that I would discount Hannah. Based on Cassie getting a lot of first episode PIs, a good nice girl first episode edit with great music I would peg her as F1. But that makes me doubt my initial guess because its too obvious with the added editing bits ?
He also seemed to like the girl he kissed second (sorry cannot get her name), at least physically his hands were all over her before he kissed her. I wonder if she makes it far.

I also agree that the excessive kissing is probably just a mask to show that he has "it".
This cannot be easy for him, carrying this label on a show that reeks of sleeze and sensationalism and he's probably getting a lot of coaching on that front.

I hope I can come post (real life allowing) and to actually watch most of the show.

I'm actually at work tonight working with my male co-worker who is a fan of the show. He hasn't seen the first episode so I will be curious to hear what he thinks as he is watching tonight.
