Maybe it’s just me, but my anniversary is the day I got married. IMO, if my guy remembers my birthday, Valentine’s Day and our real anniversary —the date we married, I will be tickled pink and content. If he should forget the date of our first kiss, first date, day we got engaged etc that’s ok if in exchange he forgets I screwed another guy, not only once, but twice during the time I dated said guy.
This imo s reality vs reality tv.

Yup, just a matter of time before K starts talking. IMHO if it were me, I would have split long ago. The first time I'm made fun of on SM or in an interview by my SO, I'm outta here. This is one of the main reason's I never cared for K and I said long ago, a guy will get tired of that. example, cleaning her wine bottles out of the kitchen cupboard while she's laughing about it.

There's two sides to a story, and I'd love to hear S's. I'd be surprised if I will. If he "forgot" his anniversary that is a huge clue that there were problems back then. Maybe he didn't forget but felt there was nothing to celebrate.

Dear sweet Kasha,maybe you made me smile. When you said,"Maybe it's just me".My guy,remembers my birthday how,it is easy.It is March and a lot of people seem happy.

I do remember dates,married.Yes.Why,because some friend is going to call me in July and remember to tell me when our anniversary is.She is like that in that way.

I was in a bridal party four times.Oh my, good if you prepare,lovely.AH well I got married at City hall.

so why expect to celebrate an engagement anniversary?

Clearly the proposal isn’t really a proposal but I think the point is this is when they started dating exclusively. A lot of people celebrate this date until they get married.

She hadn't given it back to him in May, had she? I think she just gave it back 3-4 months ago. 

Regardless, if you're not married, most people do celebrate their anniversary as the day they got together or the day they got engaged. We certainly get those annual super romantic posts from Jojo/Jordan and Rachel/Bryan and even Sean/Cat (who ARE married) on the anniversary engagement day. And I don't think forgetting is the big deal. The big deal is being an azzhole when your partner brings it up that you did forget and it hurt their feelings. You can't have a relationship when you're constantly invalidating your partner's feelings.

IMO.

My issue with taking sides of one or the other is those viewing from the outside only see what goes on from the outside.

This is the part about public breakups that I hate. Keep your mouth shut and move on with your life.

I swear Shawn and Kaitlyn talked about this on her podcast at one point last year? If I find motivation I might go back and listen to those episodes to find out. I seem to remember her laughing about this and him admitting he was an a$$hole for forgetting.

Also, she forget how old he was on his birthday so there’s that too.

A relationship requires compromise and if Shawn forgot their said anniversary but showered Kaitlyn with love on every other day, it's good, IMO. A relationship also requires forgiveness as none of us are perfect. If you feel loved and mutual investment in common goals, then it is easy to overlook a missed moment that is important to at least one of the couple.
