Kaitlyn Bristowe - Bachelorette 11 - #5 - Discussion

It's not like crossing the border at your leisure is easy anymore. I live in a border town, and they are being pr*cks to the locals, I can imagine anything that's out of the ordinary.

Why in the world would K mention anything like that? That's what I mean by her digs towards him. This has been an ongoing so called banter, which I'm rarely a fan of.

The first proposal isn’t to their liking because the other guy proposed on the same day so it wasn’t just about them. Fair enough. Now we have a reproposal in negotiation but it’s seemingly attached to an ultimatum.
Not romantic either way IMO. Ashley gave Jared an ultimatum - no living together until engaged - however that benefitted from timing; he having his emotional flood gate wide open and they being at the height of their honeymoon period.

As to green card/visa... there is a fiancé visa with a time limit before marriage. She already works while living in the US so it’s doable if they want it to be.

I think things are okay-ish with them. I just watched her stories and she’s getting regular Tucker updates that can’t be from anyone other than Shawn obviously and then talked about seeing B&G in Nash for a podcast soon.

I think these couples are under huge pressure to stay together (especially now with "influencer" money involved) when, realistically, the odds have never really been in their favor. As much as I originally liked Kaitlyn and Shawn together, maybe it would actually be better for them to go their separate ways.

Sigh.  K&S are the only couple I follow -- mainly because  I was "smitten" with Shawn from the moment he stepped out of the limo, so right now I'm majorly disappointed in him.

IIRC, it wasn't long after their TV engagement when Shawn first said he wanted to re-propose so they could do it in their own, private way.  At first I felt it was such a sweet, romantic idea, but now I see it as a manipulative way to curb Kaitlyn's expectations and put off a possible TV wedding (or wedding planning of any kind).  If I'm right, that would mean he was terrified of a wedding very early on when they were practically glued at the hip and had stars in their eyes for each other.  I also remember their interviews when Kaitlyn froze her eggs. I felt like Shawn was a bit incredulous that they were taking their first step in planning a family and seemed afraid of (not excited by) that kind of progress.  That, too, was back when they were very, very happy together, so I think this guy is completely terrified of "permanent" commitment.

And just for the record, they ARE using birth control.  She's not on the pill, but they do use condoms.  (So yes, she shares too much on her podcasts.)

thanks for clarifying! I just re-listened to her appearance Babes and Babies and  she said that they weren't using protection and she wouldn't be mad if she got pregnant tomorrow. She also said she wants to have two babies in the next two years. She didn't clarify on the type of protection she's not using, but I assumed she meant nothing based on that. 


It's good if they are using birth control, because they should definitely get their ish together before having babies!

How so? They're pretty safe when used properly. Not everyone wants to eat synthetic hormones every day.

The real question here is why we know the nitty gritty details of their lives down to their preferred form of birth control. My God, how unnessary.  Save that for your girlfriends. I don’t think your fans really need to know.

I believe that was sarcasm. As in we all know condoms are birth control, who is K kidding when she says they are not using any birth control.

To be fair, they have asked her about kids on her podcast , jade/carlys podcast and other podcast and she said she wouldn't be mad if she got pregnant tomorrow and they asked oh you don't use any protection and she said sometimes we do, sometimes we don't.
I personally don't like to discuss this stuff, just wanted to clear it as someone who listens to her podcasts.

That makes more sense to me. IMO condoms are not serious birth control. If you feel like rolling the dice, they’re a good option. Otherwise, they block disease, not babies and Kaitlyn knows that. IMO, Women seriously trying to prevent pregnancy use the alternatives she’s used up until now when she realized this clown will not marry her unless she does something drastic, LOL. JMO
