Bachelorette 14 - Becca Kufrin - Episode 8 - July 16th - *Sleuthing Spoilers*

I respect the ex wife for NOT chiming in and I don't think that reflects badly on G or on herself. G's family seem concerned he doesn't make the same mistake (their perspective) and that isn't inappropriate for a family to feel either. ALL JMO!

I think she is waiting in the wings. The storm is brewing and I hate to say it, but Tuesday or Wednesday after the FR...it's coming. If it's not her it will be someone close to her. What does anyone know about her? Have seen the wedding video. She is a pretty girl.
If she says nothing or does nothing, there must be a lot more to her/their story that she does not want to be made public.
He has been forthcoming to a point on camera. There seems to have been an event ....as per Becca's knowing, "he has told me everything that happened" to his mom.
Whatever happens, I am sure they will be prepared to counter.

Per the bolded: there are people left in our current society, who relish their privacy and may, in fact abhor the thought of being in the public eye. IMO any information coming from her camp only continues future speculation. I would think it would be hard to be totally silent, but IMO, it would help keep focus off her.

RE: G's speech - it's like Garrett is trying to speak as slowly as possible and Blake the opposite, as fast as possible. Sometimes, Blake talks so fast I can't understand what he is saying. They are showing this night and day contrast. (I still say this show is a comedy ) Blake's HS was victim of a school shooting; G makes fun of school shooting victims.

I went back and watched the clip of G's mom talking to Becca. She said that she went over to help Garrett pack up his stuff when he left his ex (yeah, the mom drove to Reno to help Garrett pack - the same mom who only comes to Tahoe once a year and he never seemed to visit bc of his ex). For one thing, how many men call their mom to drive 3 hours to help them pack when they are leaving their ex AFTER 2 MONTHS of marriage?? How embarrassing!!! Then she said he asked Mom, am I doing the right thing? A question a son might ask his mom if he's making a job change or buying a new car. Am I doing the right thing? leaving my wife after WORKING HARD at it for 2 months? This is after the mom drove all that way to help him pack. I would have said on the phone, you need to get counseling first, etc. I had thought some big even probably sparked the split, but that's such a weird question to ask his mom. Like he's not sure he should walk out. If he wasn't sure, the answer is no.

Yes, it could be some big event occurred. Or he's a hot head, as I suspect. Something has been off about him since night one.

OMG. This isn’t a red flag. It’s a R E D nightmare. IMO. And Becca is inviting it.

He may not have called his mom to come, just to tell her what was going on. Maybe she just wanted to be there for her son? My family would do the same for me. I find absolutely nothing embarrassing about it. I think it is just family being supportive of one of their own during a hard time.

As for not being sure if he should walk out, that is pretty normal to me also. I've had friends going through the same thing ask the same question. How many times have we seen people in abusive relationships...or any relationships that aren't working...question themselves if they should stay and go. Pretty normal to me.

Funny how we all see things differently. For me, Garrett looks like the furthest thing from a hot head. If anything I would go in the opposite direction. I've said it before, to me he is like a big, goofy dog trying ever so hard to please. Maybe not the brightest, which would explain not seeing red flags or even if he did, optimistically thinking it would get better....like lots of people in sh*ty relationships.

Also to chime in, he was very young and probably not mature enough personally to be married. I think Becca sympathasizes with his past since she was in a long term relationship that was similar to G’s in that there must have been quite a lot of bumps and hurdles. After they go public we will see better how he’s matured especially after the whole experience of being on the show, finding his future wife, and cleaning up his outlook vis as vis his IG likes history.

For me, I just don't see anything normal about giving up after 6 weeks home from the honeymoon. To say you gave it your all to save your marriage - 2 months - is ludicrous. I would hardly call 2 months a "marriage". I think it's the look in his eyes, that almost fixed stare, even when smiling, it just seems off to me. JMO And in the wedding video, his eyes look normal and small and smiling. Again just a difference I see.

Garrett was not that young when he married. His wedding was only 2 1/2 years before filming started. He was 26 1/2. Started dating her around age 24. (same age as my husband and me) That's not all that young. He did say he was young, implying this was YEARS ago, but only 2 1/2. Not that many years. And he seems to still be very young, the way he "plays" almost every day. His life seems to be fun and adventures and games quite often (does he work?), from what I've seen in his stories. JMO

^^ I totally agree, Garrett does not come across as a hot head to me, like at all. I also agree I think he is a "quick to please" type of guy.

I don't think any of her F3 are hot heads. When other guys from this season are describing any of these three, the words "laid back" keeps getting used for all of them. I mean Blake seems to be the most emotional/sensitive/intense of the three.

Also, for Garrett, I really didn't have any pause with his parents being there during the split/move out. I think going through something like that you would want your parents as a support system, I mean I would. And I would for sure have someone help me move out - geez I can't imagine doing that on my own. IMO

I think the one scene that stuck out to me the most about Garrett and his family was when he was saying goodbye to his family and he hugged and said "goodbye granny" and his dad started making fun of him in a whiny voice "goodbye granny, goodbye granny", just exemplified an environment of toxic masculinity. That would have been a HUGE red flag to me.

Geez giving up after 2 months not equating it to giving it your all? What if tables were turned and a man emotionally abuses a woman. How long should she try before leaving?

I guess we don’t know what the real deal was between them that it imploded 6 weeks into the marriage post honeymoon but my goodness, that’s literally nothing, no time at all. They wouldn’t even have had the opportunity to pay their quarterly garbage collection fee even once.

In the sneak preview for next episode, Becca said Arie said some things and didn't stand by them... Well, Garrett said some things in his wedding vows (excepting the crass stuff ) and he stood by them about as long as Arie stood by you, Becca. Hope you think about that, Becca.
