Im sorry but besides the IG things that I've kind of let go, Garrett just seems too childish for me. The way he talks is like he is a young kid. At the end of the episode, with his toast, he literally said "I can't wait to meet your people." people?? seriously. how about FAMILY?

I understand what you are saying - and in fact words are very important to me too and I needed a partner who could express himself well. However, everyone looks for or needs something different in their partner. Becca keeps saying she feels safe in his arms, an equal, a partner, "home" with Garrett. There is something she is seeking that she is finding in him (or feeling with him) and there really is no arguing with personal taste and feelings. In the end that's what makes us so wonderfully diverse and individual!

@Chgohighlife I was going to say the same thing. IMO It looks so blatantly obvious what he's trying to do. When he attends a Pride parade, and has good friends who are gay, or same sex couples, and spends a lot of time with them, eating and drinking, then maybe I'll consider. When he has a full understanding of what it means to be bullied because they are gay, maybe I'll start to believe it. Maybe he'll learn a thing or two from Becca's friend.

As @cookielover12 said, he's like a kid. IMHO says and does some pretty childish things.

@GuardianAngel yeah, he’s in trouble if he thinks other people are as stupid as that Instagram post. I’m actually looking forward to all the ways he will screw up, even with full time handling and coaching. He’s a natural.

Garrett is actually echoing what Becca said to him in the Bahamas when she gave him a rose which meant she would be going to his hometown. She said she was excited to meet his people. I think it is an affectionate term for those someone cares about (family & friends) rather than a lack of vocabulary.

It might just be the way he talks. *edit*He seems like a genuine, likable guy who likes to lead an active, adventurous, happy and uncomplicated life. Re people vs family - these days there are so many different words and sayings.
