It's crazy how little they pay these people and is amazing they can get anyone to take so much time off work when you factor in the time on the first show where I don't believe they get paid. No wonder a lot want to do DWTS. That's some serious cash in comparison.

Jake and Matt Grant were both paid $60,000 for their seasons. That is not counting DWTS (Jake), teeth (Matt :awesome: ) or appearances and such. If you will notice, these young stars are not making any expensive purchases. The two that got married were both able to buy new homes.

The stars are paid in three segments ~ before filming, once airing and after the last show (a good way to keep the reins on them during the media tour is to hold onto their last paycheck).

I am curious about this also because at one point I thought he was offered more then $500,000 to become the lead. Not that even a million dollars would have changed the choice he made to not become the next Bachelor, but it is interesting the different amounts the leads are paid.

I heard that also. He ignored that offer and what I heard was they then upped it to $600,000 which he also ignored - or shut down by letting out some pics of him with Peyton and they got the message. I think he said (probably joking) that he would have actually done it for $2,000,000.

I have no idea what Chris L was offered but no one has been paid over Jelle's top dollar amount as far as I know. One Bachelor bragged about an amount by adding a zero to his amount but he was lying.

Typically young people with a lot of money will make HUGE purchases, and I have yet to see any of them do this (unless they already had money to begin with).

You have to remember that the producers are very cheap given the profits they make from the show. One F2 was even required to pay for her own meals at the hotel when it came down the the final two filming, plus she had to pay for her own FRC dress. Now it seems better but if there is a cheap route they will go there ... because they can.

Before the Fort closed all the threads, I was PMing with one of our members who was in a small group and friends with a close friend of Chris's father.. By that time, the offer to Chris had already been raised 3 times. We weren't even into the summer and before Chris Harrison hiked it up there to golf with Chris. The family member said they raised the ante several times. Chris was so popular, and they really wanted him. Now what the final offer was, I don't know. It became fairly obvious that they were willing to stretch themselves.

My guess is Jake ~ stating $600,000 instead of $60,000. LOL

I think he would have paid them to let him be TB, and probably used a bad check as well, if the stories that were going around at the time about his finances were accurate.
