I do think that this is not a true "Mesnick" even if that is what a lot of people are referring it, too. Yes, there was a "switcheroo" that happened. However, the whole thing with Jason and Melissa was mutual. They both wanted out so they could be with other people. They also didn't have an ex come back wanting to propose marriage on the show, either. It seems like Becca got two marriage proposals and neither one worked out for her. I really want to see her happiness come to her. I know that ultimately she will most likely better off in the long run, but I can't help thinking that must have really stung.

I agree Becca is better off. I also don’t think a person should stay in a relationship that isn’t working. I also think you shouldn’t pick one person and scope out the person you just broke up with within two weeks. If you pick someone, then give them a real chance. If you are looking outside that relationship that fast, then you had no business starting that relationship to begin with. All IMO.

My head is spinning. Not a true Mesnick? Jason almost had a stroke when he let Molly go. Melissa was a total b*tch on the sit down with CH blaming him for everything calling him a b*stard. (I'm looking out for that same line during the ATFR) . Jason and Molly had to go in hiding they were so hated. TPTB led the viewers to believe this was all Jason's fault even though Melissa had her ex waiting for her. Apparently Jason changed his mind as did Arie.

Melissa agreed to the split because she wanted out? It was mutual? It certainly didn't look that way to viewers.

How is Arie worse than Jason? How do we know Becca didn't realize she too wanted to go back to her ex?

A switch is a switch, IMO both chose the F1 then later switched to F2. One IMO isn't worse than the other.

The only thing different here is I just can’t picture Becca acting like Melissa. She’s been through much worse to let Arie and the situation get her so riled up. Stay classy girl.

Tomorrow night will be difficult for Arie. He is going to have many people hate him for this little switcheroo, but just as people hated Jason and Molly, most eventually got over it. It's a TV show, and a highly edited one at that. Jmho.

Though we've sort of hijacked the older meaning of a "Mesnick" to imply it's a post FRC switch, IIRC as originally used a "Mesnick" was that "almost stroke" of crying and almost heaving over a railing after letting someone (Molly) go.

IMO that "ATFR1" presented the situation as Melissa wanted it to be presented. Supplementary spoilers from RS were also very much biased to take Melissa's "side" in the breakup. But as you point out, Melissa's ex wasn't far away even before the FRC aired, and was immediately back in the picture by the time Melissa happily announced the news about Tye on Ellen - which aired the same week the finale aired. That she later on admitted that in real life she never would have even dated Jason all give some reason to ponder just who it was that really wanted out, and how much of an "ex" Tye really was.

Other than the switcheroo though I don't see too much in common between this season and that one.

It might not have looked that way to viewers, but Melissa/Jason did have a mutual split. That is a proven fact, as both Melissa and jason have said that multiple times. Melissa even detailed in her book that she thought about her ex the entire time during filming and never loved Jason. She wasn't heartbroken over Jason (it was more of an ego and disrespect thing for her finding out about Molly on-camera), This is a stark difference to Becca turning down her ex's proposal to just have a chance with Arie. Becca's SM activity and Caroline's (and even the other women's) words do not support this being a mutual breakup or Becca going back to her ex. Sure, anything is possible but if we're going to throw crazy theories out there, we might as well say that Lauren is pregnant and that's why this whole mess happened. Seems just as likely to me! IMO.

IA we have hijacked the meaning of the Mesnick. It will be interesting to see if Arie also has a Mesnick moment when he lets Lauren go.

Arie said he's not a crier and didn't cry this season. I don't think we're getting any Mesnick level reaction to letting Lauren go. IMO, they would be promoting it already if he did. I think the most we'll get is that ITM of him saying his heart is ripped open.

The switch doesn't air until next week. Tomorrow night is the Fantasy Suite Dates. Next week is the finale.

How do we know at this point it was not mutual? 
Personally, if I knew I was in a relationship where the other person was torn to be with someone else from day one, had probably slept with someone else on the show and said I love you to someone else, I would be out of there in a red hot minute. No, take it back, a second. 
Because someone is heard crying in the background does not indicate that crying goes with that scene. It's a VO. 
I think for the relationship to have any kind of real life chance, you have to be all in from the time that final rose is given out and accepted. If you are not all in from that moment, how can you even expect to be all in later when real life challenges occur. JMOAA
This scenario does not mean Becca would not be angry, feeling that rose never should have been offered. I would be angry. 
It also, does not mean that after knowing the situation, I would not want out immediately if not sooner.
No one knows what occurred on that 4wheeling SHV. It may have been uncomfortable as he11. Discussions may have taken place to illuminate the real situation. I don't know.
