The procedure in which the switch was made. It isn’t the textbook Mesnick imo.  . It should be renamed the Arie. Imo.

Regarding Becca’s Ex and the look on Arie’s face, it seems more like comparing apples to oranges. Lauren is talking directly to Arie when he emotes that face. When talking perhaps man to man with Becca’s Ex, why would Arie have a forlorn look? For the most part it’s out of his control until Becca addresses her ex personally . Jmo

I guess I don't understand what you mean by saying the "textbook Mesnick". Both chose one and switched to the other, both had televised breakups, both switched to the F2. IMO, that sounds like the textbook Mesnick to me. I remember in that season people were outraged at Jason and Molly.....this season they are outraged at BOTH Arie and Lauren....pretty textbook and history repeating itself, IMO.

@Aunties_Love I get where you’re coming from and I’m not an expert of Jason’s season or many others for that reason. But from what I read here , did Melissa back away from Jason because of her ex? Or did Jason back away from Melissa simply because of Molly,? The reason for the switch makes a difference to me. Jmho

@Stone_Hedge  It was both. Neither Jason or Melissa were suited to each other. Jason was leaning toward Molly and psychologically influenced to choose Melissa IMO. Melissa wanted back with Tye.

Melissa and Jason both wanted out. She wanted her ex. Jason wanted Molly. Mutual breakup.

Although the ATFR done with them and Chris (no audience) is interesting to watch now. She was such the little actress and played her part quite well.

Thank you for the history @kasha and @havapepper. I think that’s why I feel it’s different than a normal Mesnick . Mutual is very different than only one wanting out imo.

IMO, it was both. We knew at that time that Melissa's ex picked her up at the airport when they came back from filming. That had been in the media at the time.

What I was personally told later and I don't have the proof to back it up as at that time I seriously thought I didn't need it but what happened is that Jason and Melissa saw each other at the holidays and that is when things had changed. Jason felt it from her. Then Jason too had trouble forgetting Molly and was seriously thinking of her. I was also told from someone close to it all that Jason wasn't at fault for most of what happened post filming. There was something happening with Melissa and her ex at the time from the moment she got home and most of the problems they had were from her end. The person wanted me to know that it was a combination and not mostly from Jason but Melissa was a big obstacle to their relationship and not Jason. Just food for thought. There's more that I can say but don't have the written proof for it.

That was sort of weird for me to watch. For one thing I watched Arie's face when Becca's ex told him she was the love of his life and he wanted to marry her; what I was looking to see was to what extent his expression matched the one he had when Lauren told him she wasn't sure she could go on. And ... IMO it wasn't even close - barely any change in expression as those words were said. Then when Arie says "If Becca were to leave I'd just be crushed" - all the while he's saying that he's shaking his head "no". I normally interpret someone doing that as not really believing what they are saying.

I guess I say "weird" because I was looking for some evidence that the returning ex sparked some sort of "possessive" feelings from Arie - something that might have made him think he didn't want to let Becca go, and was sort of expecting that. I didn't get that impression though.

It seemed like someone reading a script. No emotion. Nothing. This season is so bizarre, imho.

If think it’s pure frozen with  because it’s pretty clear her ex could knock the sh@t out of him.
