Like what he just described sounds so familiar to me. I feel like it's happened before on this show.

Oh yeah he did that to Emily.

If Becca knew that Arie contacted Lauren, but didn’t ever think that he would break up their engagement, I wonder what Becca thought the call was about. To apologize? To what? Did he make it seem to her that everything was peachy with them but let me just call Lauren to tell her...? It sounds so strange.

Good point!

Arie leads women on so by the time he drops someone, she is completely blindsided and dumbfounded. Tia, Sienne, Kendall... He probably didn't let all his cards out to Becca until he is sure Lauren will take him back.

Arie probably told her some BS - Maybe that he wants to make sure Lauren is ok? and he would have wanted Emily to call him to let him know that she was in love and ok etc etc so he didn't have to fly to emily and give her his journal and wants to save lauren that feeling? or some crap, who knows with this guy

I just realized that not only will Arie have been engaged twice in a short amount of time, but quite possibly Becca will also if she accepts a proposal from her F1 in a couple months. Maybe she will request that the guys don’t propose to her, but are they going to allow it?

IDK. I think TPTB treat the female leads worse than the male lead when it comes to emotional manipulation.  She can probably request that. It would be like playing the powerball. JMO

If Becca requests the guy doesn't propose, Becca will not be the 'ette IMHO.

We keep forgetting that the title of this show we love to watch is called The Bachelor, a word that—while not always—can sometimes be used to define a guy with playboy tendencies, a perpetual ex-boyfriend, someone who is alone with good cause. So when Arie inevitably breaks more hearts and the season wraps, he’ll just continue to be America’s ex-boyfriend…one we’ll be glad things are over with.

Probably whatever it was that TPTB said it was about. They lie like the proverbial rug but they're very good and believable in their lies.

While not mentioned in his most recent post, RS has posted previously that Arie had told Becca (IIRC on more than one occasion) that he was struggling with his decision so I don't think Arie was trying to make everything peachy - probably quite the opposite IMO. Unless lies from production were super convincing, IMO Becca could have easily guessed that something serious was up. I think production knew exactly where this was going and they were working hard in the background to figure out how to get it on film in the most dramatic way they could, and that included trying their best to make it seem that Becca was blindsided.

IMO the basic story line for this show is "Cast falls in love with lead, sees a future and lead dumps cast leaving them heartbroken". IMO this gets repeated for every one of the cast save F1. In this season it includes F1, or so it seems to me.
