Bachelor 22 - Arie Luyendyk Jr - General Discussion - *Sleuthing Spoilers*

I feel like tptb storyboards were thrown out the window this season with Arie.

After watching the hometown episode I can see how Arie could be conflicted between Becca and Lauren. Becca was the safe choice. Lauren more of a wild card.

Even though the ending was messy as relationships can be in real life if Arie/Lauren end up together and Becca is the Bachelorette and they’re all in a good place at the ATFR I’ll considerate it a successful ending to another crazy season JMO

I will be the first to admit I'm different than most people, but for me a proposal is something personal and I would not want it to be in public, in front of other people, be filmed, etc. It would not bother me if they did away with the proposal on the bachelor and filmed ATFR at a set time after...like maybe 3 months down the road...to see if they still felt the same way they did when they chose. Maybe the final rose would be just the ILY and the rose. 3 months in the real world as a couple would give them time to see how their lives meshed and if their feelings grew or fizzled.

I like this idea. 
I don't think it will ever be implemented by this show, but if it were my show that is what I would do.

@justcallmegranny The International franchises do not have an engagement. They barely have an I love you, although they do have a very good success rate.

The engagement was not always a given. And Charlie did date both ladies for an extended time post show.

His was probably my favorite bachelor season.

Jesse (Season 5) gave a plane ticket to Jessica.

Of course, that was a weird ending as well since the F2 Tara showed up after the F1 Jessica.

Yes, but meaning it's never going back to that. IMO

They also don't have Fleiss and company which IMO may be the secret to their success. I haven't had the chance to see the International shows, but am really enjoying the contestants on BWG. As an American, I have to say these International guys put many of US "boys" to shame in how respectfully they treat women.

The bolded resonates with me. In Jason's season, he chose the safe choice of Melissa instead of going for the wild card(at the time) with Molly. Knowing how things seemed to be set up(IMO) during Jason's season that he had to choose Melissa to get Molly in the end as the producers wanted Melissa for the lead and this would of set her up for it....problem is she wouldn't play ball with them. To me, the editing is being set up somewhat the same with regards to the ITM's / VO about choosing the wrong one in the end. This is what happened in Jason's season in epi 4 with Molly/Jason date and then later on in the season for the FD's / LCD/ finale.....that theme was pretty rampant then. All IMO

I heard two things about that season and how it ended. One was that Charlie really wanted to pick Sarah but she wasn't sold on him or the situation and wasn't ready to agree. So instead of picking her, he said he wanted more time and to date both of them before picking. By the time the ATFR rolled around Sarah was more willing and he picked her. The other thing I heard was that while in theory he was dating both Sarah and Krisily, he only ever saw Krisily one time so he really never did date her - only Sarah. At the ATFR Krisily pretty much knew he wasn't going to pick her because she had only seen him once.

Sarah recently did a podcast for RS and I listened to it (though I normally don't listen to his podcasts) because I was interested to see if Sarah would confirm anything that I had heard. She DID confirm that he only saw Krisily one time, but was silent on any possible reluctance on her part.
