Honestly, I never got the sense that Nick really liked or respected Caila all that much. I just think that she was always too polished and censored which is the opposite of what Nick is all about. JMO

The movie title also comes from/involves the Serendipity cafe in New York ... where Caila lives and Nick just visited for Sharleen's wedding (that they both attended). Caila is also a believer of the concept of serendipity as she kind of held the belief that "fate" brought her and her ex together because she met him on a plane then ran into him again randomly on the streets of Boston.

NGL I would not be mad at this pairing (as long as he apologizes for the shade ). But yes, probably nothing to see here

I have always felt they would be compatible. I was disappointed she didn't show up in Paradise earlier.

They had ITM's expressing their physical attraction to each other but I think Caila might have known about the mutual interest with him and Jen or something (I can't remember if any shade had been thrown by Nick at this point towards Caila ... I only really recall the BIP shade ).

IMO I'm 99% sure this isn't about Caila so no wink-wink/nudge-nudge here (), but I do think he is thinking about someone. I don't think guys randomly tweet/like gifs about rom-coms for no reason (but perhaps I'm overanalyzing

Did he like this post before or after Vanessa's latest freestyle show?  Because she certainly acted like she didn't GAF. jmo.  I really hope Nick meets someone soon who is a perfect fit for him. jmo

I didn't watch but from afar, I felt he sort of stood back and observed her behavior and thought to himself....no one is that well behaved or polished all the time sort of one eye open one eye raised. She reminds me of his friend Kyle for some reason. She is obviously intelligent and fun, IMO. I just think they would be compatible.

If he is thinking about Vanessa when tweeting about Serendipity, I sort of can understand the connection. Serendipity is a story about two people who lead two different lives (and who even live in two different cities/time zones) but who both individually decide to go on an epic search to find each other even though their reasoning makes very little sense and people think they are crazy because of it . But seriously, though...I think what makes the romance so compelling is the fact that the two people, Jonathan and Sarah, are completely on the same page in terms of their feelings for each other (and their desire to find each other) even though they had only met once and don't even know each other's last name. Not only are they both in the same place in life (ie. both on the verge of getting married to other people and are second-guessing their decisions due to the fantasy that they have of being with each other) but they both individually decide to take a leap of faith and follow their hearts which ultimately leads them to finding each other in the end. I can see why a story like that would be particularly compelling for Nick...Serendipity is a film about fate, hope and the reunion of two people who find their way back to each other because they are both emotionally invested and happen to be on the same page at the exact same moment in time. It's definitely a fairytale and defies all sense of logic...but I suppose that part of the film's purpose is to show that true love doesn't come from the mind but that it comes from the heart and that, with a nudge from destiny combined with their respective decision to find each other, Sarah and Jonathan were meant to be.

Yes, it's my opinion but I'm also basing it on the information that I see in front of me. Between Nick posting that picture with him wearing the Blue Jays cap and him liking a bunch of sad, heart-breaking posts about love...I mean, who else do you think that he would be thinking about when doing those things? The man broke up with his fiance of nine months not even a month ago and I'm to assume that he's exhibiting this kind lovelorn SM behaviour over someone else? Logically, I think that it's a no-brainer that he would be thinking about Vanessa especially given the timing of everything, don't you?

This is so uncharacteristic of Nick who IMO always came off as the ultimate pessimist and once liked an Elan tweet about pretending to believe in fate when it's convenient... he must be a mess of emotions rn

I didn't watch the Freestyle show but I've definitely learned my lesson when it comes to Vanessa's ability to be professional and mask her true emotions under a smile. I'm not criticizing her for it-- I think it's an admirable quality in a way--however, I will never forget the fact that the only reason why I was shocked that Nick and Vanessa broke up was because of the way that Vanessa always acted when it came to SM/ sharing her life when she was with Nick. Though Nick made it apparent that he was struggling with their situation, Vanessa always seemed so happy and always spoke so glowingly about him that I wanted to believe that Nick was simply uncomfortable with being a couple in public and that they were happier together in their private life. Of course, that didn't turn out to be true. I obviously misread Vanessa/the situation...and I guess it is possible that I'm misreading her still.

However, I'm the kind of person who tends to give people the benefit of the doubt until proven otherwise and I just get the sense that Vanessa is someone who really cares about her image and cares about being liked in general (hence why she had so many issues with the internet trolling) which could make her seem a little disingenuous sometimes even though she means well and is a pretty genuine person overall (IMO). She wasn't going to go on the Freestyle show and act anything other than upbeat and professional which is why I wouldn't think much of it. JMO

In some way, Vanessa should really care about her image since she is a teacher...in Canada, showing professionalism, being discrete on their private lives, behaving properly and not being raunchy on SM is a big thing since teachers maybe projected as role models for students...but, I think it is also part of her growing up to be nice to people but also being sensitive to what people say...regardless as based on her personalities...I don't think Vanessa is faking her happiness since she is such a blunt person...although she can also be classy, tactful and be professional altogether... - JMO -
