I had the same thought @Valancy, especially with Elise last night.  In contrast, with Laura on the paddle steamer, you could see so much it was like watching a dentist conduct an extremely inappropriate oral exam.  Quite different kiss/body language IMO.

@Bobette I thought this kiss looked awkward and could they get their mouths any wider:giggling:  definitely not passionate at all and their lips don't even look like they are on each others.

Also the back of the boat is behind Matty so pretty sure the cameraman couldn't get that view or he'd fall of the boat:giggling:

Every single time I see that Laura and Matty kiss it reminds me of this kiss between Kath and Kel courtesy of @KathandKim

It was definitely a passionate kiss - you can tell by their head movements. The whole kiss wasn't shown

Yeah that scene cuts away mid kiss and they both definitely going for it considering they both talked about the earlier missed opportunity!

In the aired kissing clip, she always had something in her hands - first a champagne glass and then a rose - which made the whole thing look more awkward than it probably was, IMO. Just weird she didn't drop the "props" (I'd be ditching that glass overboard and grabbing the back of his hair like nobody's business, but I digress...). Maybe she was told to keep them in shot but WHY?

It's so weird.  Why hide the kissing?  I'd think they'd want to show as much as possible to make people think she's F1 (assuming she's not).  Reminds be of Bach NZ where they cut almost all the kissing out between Zach and his F1 and just left in these stupid passionless pecks on the lips like a chicken eating corn.  Then with the F2, it was all on like Donkey Kong.  Hmmmm......

Historically in NZ the F1 gets what I call a 'romance edit' and F2 gets a 'sexy edit'. In season 1 Art commented that he thought he was physically further along with Dani rather than Matty. So I think that quite deliberate by the producers.

Also during season 1's women tell all - Rochelle said Tim was super intimate with and she thought she would win because of that but he said it was his way of saying good bye because F1 would obviously get private time later.

So I'm not sure about who causes this circumstance but F2 does tend to appear sexier and more passionate.
