Ben Higgins - Bachelor 20 - Discussion

@simon1781 I'm pretty sure ben was still involved with Talysis last year just part time. He was on a business trip with them last May, he flew back to Denver early over mothers day weekend last year, assuming for work, Lauren snapped many times throughout their relationship last year of her home alone during the day, and also HEA showed Ben going to work at Talysis while Lauren got lunch with the twins and decided to install a toilet.

I agree with that being a possibility. IMO, after seeing how much Lauren missed LA, maybe the podcast was in the works so they could split their time between the two. Ben said in an interview way back:

"As far as, am I looking for a woman to move to Denver or not? I mean, I love Denver. It's an incredible place to live and I have roots here now. I have a good friend group here. I would really love if a woman would move to Denver, but I'm not going to force it, and I think I'm still open to whatever state or step is next for us.

If she feels strongly about a certain city or if the woman in my life feels like we need to move away, then I'm open to it. I want to make sure that this is a conversation that happens amongst us and not just me saying, "Yeah, you HAVE to do this."

Also, IMO, money wasn't the issue, it was the work itself. IMO, once HEA was done, Lauren could have focused on her blog and stopped letting The Bachelor/her relationship define her. Instead of making the blog successful, she was constantly off on trips and doing photo shoots with Bachelor alum.

Ben seems like the type who feels good having a sense of purpose in his life. Especially work wise. Like with ads on Instagram..I don't think he disrespects people who do that, but for him, I think he needs to do more than that. An office job isn't some greatly fulfilling thing, but obviously he likes it.  I don't think he'll stay with his regular job for life, I don't think that's something he ultimately wants, but I think it was a good idea to go back for now.

and thank you @sweeti810 for finding this interview! I knew he said he was open to moving, and yet some think he's selfish, super traditional and feels good about having a woman stuck in Denver catering to him. And IMO, that's not the case.

Also I just remembered Lauren saying she was most excited to go grocery shopping together after they went public. Can we take a moment to reflect and eyeroll please?

I actually believe they were both excited for normal, but when normal came it turned out they didn't really like each other. Once the giddy stopped and they weren't in the getting it on like bunnies stage they didn't mesh. She didn't like his humor, I have a feeling he isn't into body/fitness like Lauren. They just didn't have a ton of common ground with each other. I don't blame each other. We have heard time and again you really fall in love after the show. In this case, I don't think they fell in love after the show, rather they spent 18 months trying to make what they thought was love on the show real. And they tried hard, but it just wasn't what either of them needed. Marriage and relationships can be hard, but hopefully the good out weighs the struggle. HEA and the rush to a wedding probably exacerbated these differences, but they would have shown through in the long run.

While I am sad for them to have to go through a breakup, I am also happy that both can hopefully find someone who is better for each of them.

What is he on a break up press tour? I figured it was rehashed statements from the podcast but nope. 

I see he changed his tune from she took almost everything to they split the furniture and she left the outdoor stuff. If you factor in the upgrades to his home I'm pretty sure he's making it out with quite a bit too.

He already put his deer antlers back on the wall And wth was he doing with all his old furniture? Keeping it in his garage? Saving it for a rainy day (a la the the current breakup)? He said for his new single life he's hoping for few restrictions and responsibilities Oh boy!! Get it Ben...I guess!

That last part was especially side eye worthy .

He's talking a lot about the break up. Has there ever been such a break up tour before?

There is such a thing as a breakup tour?I've heard about divorce parties but not a breakup tour. Is it really a thing or just because he is being interviewed about his breakup by multiple outlets , TIA.

Not that I remember, esp within the first 2 wks post break up. Down the line I could see but so soon? Idk.

Maybe he misses being relevant or feeling important and this is the closest thing to his much loved time as The Bachelor.

It's nothing official, he hadn't named it a break up tour. It just comes across as one, to me. He is talking about the break up a lot, IMO. Not the lay low attitude I was expecting. Jmo.
