Nick Viall & Vanessa Grimaldi - Bachelor 21 - Discussion

This season is so stacked. I wouldn't be surprised if Nick doesn't last all that long. I'm fine with that. I'm more excited to see their choices post DWTS, and think that will be more telling. I'm not a DWTS fan to begin with though.

I'm not sure what one is supposed to do if they don't want attention? If she was miserable in every picture, does that mean she doesn't want attention, or that she's not happy? They are going to have fan pics, they are going to have media pics, just like every single couple before them, and a lot continue to do so. I think from sleuthing, she is a very positive grateful person. Her smile is huge and I don't think IMO it's because she likes attention, I think it's because she's happy.

She appears to be embracing this new life, supporting Nick 100% and it shows in the pics IMHO. She was hugging laughing and greeting fans at the basketball game and enjoying the moment with Nick in his hometown. If she didn't attend the function (because she doesn't want attention) the media I'm sure would be headlining "Trouble in Milwaukee" but she chose to travel with him, which made Nick very happy considering his IG pic, #itsthelittlethings etc, spend time with his family and attend the event. I thing that's a very supportive partner, in a very real unrealistic relationship.

I dont think she's miserable. I just think their mutual love of attention might bring them closer . Whoever Nick chose either had to like it or at least tolerate it IMO. He lucked out. JMO.

Also it's easy to do 'everything right' when you're spending a couple hours together here and there in your DWTS provided apartment. I think the hard part will start when he leaves DWTS. JMO.

Yes, after only 1 week IMO the top tier has been set and it's doubtful any of them will plateau.

In case of Chris and Whitney, those initial two weeks were sufficient to see that things were not looking good.

I personally don't see why DWTS is considered to be either not real-life or something that'll break the camel's back when it comes to relationships. It is just another stressful job requiring crazy hours and I say this as someone who is a longtime DWTS fan and has followed some of the pros for years and the celebs when the season was airing. If your relationship doesn't survive DWTS, chances are it wouldn't have survived long-term anyways.

Some of the celebrities continue working while the season is airing. Nick's business venture is launching towards the end of the month based on one of his interviews. Vanessa continues to work on her charitable initiative. It can't get more real-life than that IMO.

I'm not gonna give Vanessa cookies for how well she's handled it after a SINGLE episode but that's just me. IMO DWTS is another suspended reality for them. I'm just assuming that this won't be their life after the show. It's another situation where all the attention will be on him and Vanessa will need to chuck her feelings to the side to support him. IMO It's not just like any other 9-5 or w/e, it' s a rigorous process that's extremely physically taxing, and will come with even more media scrutiny. The first week was easy because he's had weeks to rehearse the first dance, that changes the further he progresses and only has a week to learn the dances. Then there will be weeks where he has to learn multiple dances, the further he goes, his hours go from 8 to closer to 12-13 for rehearsing. IMO it's still super early to form any judgements one way or the other. All JMO.

Vanessa had her friend from home with her last week and it looks like Taylor is there with her this week. I think the trip to NYC and WI was good for them.

Nick is a hard worker and a natural dancer. He's got the two best ingredients to do well on the show. I think he's having a good time and so is Vanessa. Peta also seems thrilled and has stated that compared to other couples coming off this show they seem the most positive and in the same page regarding dwts. I don't think a couple of hours more of rehearsing is gonna change anything. At the end of the day they go home to eachother just like any ordinary couple. Vanessa has been 100% supportive and Nick has included her in his journey. Where there's trust and commitment, a silly dance show can't come between that, IMO

One of my close friends went to high school with Aly Raisman, who's an incredible Olympic athlete who has won gold medals. In conversations with her, she said it was not only physically grueling, but also mentally. Her body was constantly sore and she was just mentally exhausted. Mark had her practicing sometimes over 9 hours a day. It got to the point where she didn't even want to make the finale. She was exhausted and that's coming from an Olympic athlete.

This has been a cake walk for Vanessa and Nick. That will be changing if he makes it past the next couple of weeks, which he should. All JMO

Is DWTS some couple breakup show? I don't recall everyone that does this show calling it quits with their significant other because of it being so grueling and time consuming. I don't know why it only pertains to Bach couples. Only Chris S trajectory lead to a breakup which was inevitable for anyone that watched his season. If the relationship can't survive a dance show then it wasn't a strong one in the first place, IMO.

I feel that's the case with many celebrities on that show and not just the Bachelor. Case in point - James Hinchcliffe last season. He went from relative obscurity to one of the fan favs and that came with a lot of media scrutiny. His girlfriend, Rebecca who is a Canadian actress supported him throughout and was there to cheer him on putting probably her career on hold. Now they are back to living their life. My point is if a relationship is strong, it will survive DWTS.

I think it mostly pertains to bachelor couples because for example, Vanessa and Nick are now just able to be in the public and try to be a normal couple since the bachelor world isn't normal and neither is hiding and not being allowed to be together when they want. As Nick and Vanessa said, they're getting to know each other and trying to build that foundation. Most of the other couples not from the bachelor already have a foundation.

I would imagine being emotionally, mentally and physically exhausted from DWTS would make things difficult for the next two months, especially when these two will mostly be seeing each other in the evening after Nick practices all day long.  Obviously if a couple is dedicated and wants to be together they will fight through it.
