It makes sense that the show would step in to help out. They can't very well allow Canadians to be on the show and then, when one actually gets picked, leave the couple high and dry and be all, "Yeah, sorry, you're on your own with that whole immigration thing." If they're not willing/able to make the process easier they need to cast Americans only. And then they'll miss out on TV gold like Daniel, and nobody wants that.

The only thing "striking" about the TMZ photos is how chill and cute Nissa look just strolling down the street! I think they are just happy to be able to nonchalantly stroll the streets together and sit on whatever orange couches they want!

Yeah. I think she and Shawn spent like June-Decemberish this year in Canada. Now they are in Nashville.
And they go back to Canada in the summer.

Let's be real. I work in the same field as Vanessa and just an FYI, I have been flipped off plenty of times by the people I support. They are no different than the rest of us. Some might not like it and others could care less or just might give you the finger for even suggesting that they should be so protected!

Thank you for your perspective, Sprite. I am being real. I've been flipped off before too.  I don't think it's about protecting the students. I think it's about sending positive messages to people who look to me as a role model. I don't see anything positive in that gesture.

But I'm not the Vialls or Vanessa. They have every right to do it or like it.

I understand what you are saying, but IMO that is projecting your values. We have a group called New Vision Advocates who are people with intellectual challenges who self advocate on a range of issues for people in their community. They do not take any guff. If in any way they sense that you are not treating them like equals, you will hear about it. I can just imagine some of them if they were hearing this discussion. Birds would be flying all over the place.

Ah, thanks! It's hard to keep up with these people's whereabouts. I guess she's waiting until they're married then before worrying about visas, since she's not working anyway. I hope Vanessa can figure something out or Nick will have to spend some time in Canada.

That's exhausting to me. 6 months in the US then 6 months in Canada. I guess not having a strict 9-5 job works in K&S's case. I hope Vanessa opts for the work visa or a GC.

Lots of snowbirds in the states do the 6 month thing too, to avoid taxes. There are a few states where if you reside 6 months and 1 day, you avoid paying real estate taxes in the other state by declaring major residency. I know Nevada and Florida are two states. If you live in Florida 6 months and 1 day, you can declare that state as major residence and avoid the taxes in NJ or wherever.

You don't have to stay a straight 6 months in a row on a visitor's stay. It's 6 months total during a 12 month period.

She can be in L.A for a month, go to Montreal for two weeks or whatever, and still have 5 months left. She can use that 5 months back and forth until March of 2018. She doesn't need to apply for anything or complete any paperwork.
