I'm going to give them WAY more than a C+ for effort. Big picture. There are only 4 other Bachelor couples that have lasted longer than them. 

Jason/Molly (which was its own cluster and debatable if this is a true success), Sean/Catherine, Byron/Mary who clocked 5 years, and Sarah/Charlie who clocked 4. That's it. Otherwise Ben and Lauren have tried very hard and have outlasted all the others.

Lauren has tried very hard. She moved past the dual ILY. She moved her life. I'm sure Ben has made concessions too. They see each other's families often. They are still trying, STILL after the cancelled wedding. They are CLEARLY having issues post HEA and cancelled wedding, but like the little engine that could they aren't throwing in the towel. They are trying. That's effort, real effort. And they are doing it without being fakity, fake fake and posting BS IG pics with gooey captions like so many other failing couples have done. They are being pretty transparent with their issues. Especially Lauren.

So yeah, I'll give them way higher than a C+ for effort.

We know L&B are having issues. I think it's kinda obvious they are trying. And in the mean time, they aren't OTT and pretending they are something they are not. Good for them. And as far as advertising, they all tag clothing and brands, some more blatant then others. Lauren is hardly the worse offender here. If you judge her, you have to judge others.  Valentines Day or not.

In regards to your top paragraph, I disagree. Just because they're a couple from this show doesn't mean they can't be normal and simply post about their loved one/significant other like many other regular couples in this world did for Valentine's Day.

In regards to the shilling, I'm all for it and I don't judge these people for doing it (unless it's tummy tea and a teeth whitening kit ). With that being said, it was Valentine's Day. I think you can lay off on the shilling for one day. JMO

^^ Well, like we were reminded this is Ben and Lauren's thread so I will try to keep it about them. But yeah, without getting into specifics some of those happy couple Valentine's Day posts are totally try hard and calculated being it's Valentine's Day. IMO. 

Ben and Lauren spent the day together. Posted a picture. Didn't go over top with some lovey dovey caption (because that's not who they are and also probably not their total mindset right now) but they are still being criticized. I really think they are damned if they do, damned if they don't. If they had been OTT like others, they'd be labeled as fake. If they had not been together, totally criticized.  Now they are together, minimal SM and not acting fake, and still criticism. JMO.

I guess if they were going for generic they accomplished that. A little personalization never hurt in these situations IMO. I don't think anyone was expected them to write some sappy novel to one another. At least I wasn't. A step above the most basic hallmark card you can find, yes. Lol

I have often wondered if some don't have private accounts for only their close inner sanctum to share.
I believe it's one of the realities of life: you're damned if you do etc, no good deed goes unpunished, yin/yang, the good with the bad.

I would post whatever the hell I wanted, and everyone can go forth and multiply. I'd shill on Christmas Day if it brought me income,  I'd do whatever I wanted if I were them.

Everyone else does what they want. Right or wrong, I don't think any of these people should live their lives according to some protocol that's expected of them. Some guys are lovey dovey, some guys aren't (I was married to one) it doesn't mean they love you more or less IMHO.

That's good. They are trying but still think they are "having problems at this point . I feel like Lauren is hurting inside . I hope Lauren's doing is worth it to save this rel whatever issues they have . To Ben , well it's Ben . . Jmo

I thought their post was very dry. If you're gonna post something so people don't say "OMG they didn't post anything on VDAY" "Did they break up?" at least try a little more on the caption or just don't post at all. It's like they're posting to please people but half assing it at the same time. That's why people are snarky about them,IMO. They leave room for criticism very easily. JMO

IMO they've been having some issues, but have not broken up. They're IMO figuring things out, and seems like are trying to get back on track, whatever that track is.

IMO Ben and Lauren has never been OTT with their captions from the very beginning, especially Ben .They have never been into overt PDA either. It's never been their style , so now just because most are speculating their relationship , IMO they don't owe anyone to write sappy post captions esp now when they are trying in their relationship. As far as Shilling, thank god they haven't stooped to hair gummies,flat tummy tea,hello fresh and teeth whitening .JMO

I don't know, they seemed to post some really cute pictures with cute captions of each other back in the spring and summer and it seemingly slowed down/stopped starting in the fall. The spring and summer was when they had to promote their ridiculous show, however, so perhaps that's why they were posting like that months ago. JMO.

Ben looks so different now and then. The picture which was posted by Lauren 45 weeks ago, clearly can see the sparkles in his eyes, however, the recent pics of him and Lauren were all very forced with zero chemistry, imo.

I got a feeling that Ben can't fake it like they are still all lovey dovey, so he used old pictures for her birthday and Valentine's Day. I personally don't see they can make it.
