I believe though that if the other contestants saw the strong connection (V&N - Cheese Pasta has said so) then there was a natural target on V's back.  So in addition to V having high confidence -because of reassurances (plural) - she wasn't making friends or others weren't making friends with her.

I have thought the same, I believe the girls have felt the threat from Vanessa's relationship with Nick even before...If Corinne feels it there is no way these others girls are not feeling it...Vanessa has always been close to Taylor and Danielle M since the show has started...she hasn't mingled much with the others...I guess she is not a social butterfly, unlike Rachel who probably is better with networking--being a lawyer she needs to expand her clients base through building connections...I think Vanessa is very selective when it comes to choosing friends...she doesn't have a lot, but she is fiercely loyal when they become really great friends...so saying that mainly because she is not getting along with these other girls because she doesn't mingle with them is kind of over the top... Nick hasn't been friendly with any of the guys during his time in the Bachelorette as well...so I don't think that should be an issue...they are not there to gain more friends, but rather to win the guy's heart...judging a person's personalities shouldn't be based on popularity or the number of friends they can accumulate at a certain time period...I have always felt like the show has been trying to throw the viewers off probably because of the spoilers release...there are a lot of missing edits on Nick and Vanessa...it just doesn't make any sense any more as the show goes on...a lot of the perceptions or messages send through are out of context and are misunderstood...

After this 2nd date, I still feel lacking, conversation wise, between Nick and Vanessa. She's pretty and mature but I don't know if she's got the flash Nick seems to be looking for.

Sadly Vanessa's engagement with Nick is now completely overshadowed by Rachel as Bette.

It's not news as it came out when RS released her bio.
She had 1 epi parts in 3 tv series (1 line in a show; a stewardess in another; a human host for vampires  in a third - her biggest role) plus she hosted 2 shows - online video game reviewer for less than a season; 1 season as cohost for a reality tv show for high school garage bands.

I know the Afterbuzz - late to the party again. The info about V having acting roles was available on here ages ago & is also in the public domain. Seems rather cruel some sm are out to get her by bringing that up now. Chances are she has been open on camera about it too but tptb didnt air it - just like they didnt air any conversations about her family since date 1.
Also interesting to hear Ashley I suggest it was casting reasons why they announced Rachel early. As usual didnt agree with much they said- Chelsea annoys me. Anyway off topic.
Its been a tough sm week for Vanessa & I cant wait to hear her side asap & ATFR. I hope Nessa both give us at least some of the true story.

Hard to know what goes on between Nick and Vanessa since the edit is designed to lead viewers astray. I remember how shocked some were when Meredith chose Ian. Later they said that the two were so hot for each other, no choice but to hide much of their time together.

Here's to hoping with the Bette announced early the next episodes will highlight the true F1. Not very optimistic re: HTD because of Cheese Pasta and Andi show - but hopefully all is much a do about nothing.

We've got nothing since Ep 2 thanks to TPTB. IMO, the chemistry will show up in full force if not before during FRC and ATFR. It's a flipping shame they made us wait that long.

I can't believe there can be any doubt at this point.  Maybe I'm in denial somehow (am I?) but I can't help viewing all the cuts to showing V as a signifier of them avoiding showing spoilers- or because what Nick (pushing the limits) chose to talk in truthful terms to her about how the whole process was going, but did not talk like that to any of the others- this would make it hard for TPTB to air a whole convo.  I suspect he repeatedly told her to be patient- while he did not say that to any of the others. JMHO.  
The fact she posted a photo of them both on Valentines Day , the day after Rachel is announced, the fact she follows Rachel yet Rachel doesn't follow her on IG.  That is actions of an F1 ready to get on with her life.  I don't think a heartbroken F2 would have the interest, energy or balls to post that.

Just being devil's advocate - why would Raven and Nick post a kissing picture?

I think Vanessa is more invested on her feelings with Nick more than the other girls....she feels more connections and may have seemingly been given more reassurances from Nick...it has crushed me when Nick and Vanessa have that conversations about how they feel about each other and Vanessa is devastated, they are not on the same page...she is worried that she will be leaving the show heartbroken...if indeed this is how it comes in with Vanessa losing, I don't even think Vanessa will be posting anything Nick related...she would want to be surrounded with something more positively driven...with Rachel being picked as the Bachelorette....it's natural for Nick and Raven to hype up the mystery behind on who will win Nick's heart...the show has been trying to stir away from the spoilers release with Vanessa as F1, thus this action is not surprising to me...if they want to project Raven as F1 after picking Rachel...

I kind of feel bad for Vanessa and Nick because their relationship is going to be a afterthought going forward and there only three episodes left

Awwwww, don't feel bad for Nick. I think he would tell you he got exactly what he wanted. If nothing else, the tabloids will probably switch their focus to Rachel. I'm looking forward to seeing and reading Nick and Vanessa's story in People.

It is also possible that Nick and Vanessa are quite anxious to reveal the truth behind all of these rumours... thus, this could solidify their statuses more than anything...posting more pics of each other...and, with Rachel out of the way...the chances of Raven being picked is so slim...I see Raven more as Nick's friend than as lovers....I am not seeing much special connections between them...I would think that Corinne is more Vanessa's rival than Raven.... the connections Nick is getting from Corinne surpasses Raven's...but, her behaviours may have taken a toll afterwards...

When I think back to first having access to Vanessa's IG and how wonderful it was to know she was going to be on the show then fast forward to how "that girl" has become a kind of cadaver on the table being consistenly sliced, it just makes me teary.

Ironic that Vanessa played a human host to vampires on Being Human - 1 epi because they drained her of her blood.   Ironic because in a way it's happening again - different show, similiar preditors.

IMO Vanessa arrived on the set of the Bach a fully formed woman with the kind of support system everyone desires. I think it is her nature to rise above life's tough times. I think her family telling her to go on the show despite her hesitancy after her cute grandfather died speaks to a family view that one can cherish the past while moving toward the future.
