JMO.

I definitely think he gave them something in return. Nick's smart like that. JMO.

I can definitely see this happening. I was suspicious of this as well as I could see Fleiss's asking for some sort of guarantee that they are a solid couple leading to a wedding or date set or something like that.

I didn't find the article all that unfair to Nick and agreed with much of it. Ultimately it's his season and it has been ultra boring to me. Obviously he can't control the editing but I believe they decided to focus so much on Corinne because of the lack of drama in the rest of the show. He does have chemistry with Rachel and of course, Vanessa but not enough to make me want to root for him & his f1. I get that a lot of people like Nick and his personality and find him attractive. I'm just not one of them. Bachelor 21 - Nick Viall - General Discussion - *Sleuthing Spoilers* #4 - Page 17 4256136633

Btw, I got Vanessa and that was probably partly because I picked throwing up on the 1 on 1 date because I could see myself doing that. giggling

Clearly I loved Nick on Andi's season, but IA Albean, I'm not really feeling him this season. Still, I wish Nick well. And I really love Vanessa. I love the way she is challenging him and setting her own boundaries, making him work for it. yes

^^ not aware of what you're referencing, but whether she was influenced by any information, she certainly owns her choices.

Putting together what I have seen this season and what I heard Mills say on the podcast recently I see Nick's season as a transition season for this franchise.  They are acknowledging the fact that male and female/black and white stereotypes are changing.  Nick was hired to move this show forward and pave the way for Rachel - not just as the first black lead, but also as a female professional lead.  It seems that Nick has thought of The Bachelor first as a television show and second as a means to find love.  However, we know Nick falls in love easily, so maybe we will have a happy ending.  PINKHEART

Some things that are different this season:
1) You do not have to profess your love to stay around.  In fact those who have told Nick they loved him have been sent home.
2) The way Nick asked for the father's blessing was totally different and included the reassurance that it would be a mutual decision.
3) Obviously the rose ceremony and Chris Harrison's role has been down played.
4) And I hope that the season does not end with a fake engagement  No one should get engaged after just 2 months in this situation.  And besides, the importance of the actual ceremony in a relationship has changed over the last 10 years.

There have been other professional women leads, Jillian and Andi come to mind. But it is cool that we'll finally have a non-white lead (not including JPG... since he was also ....white skinned.)

Don't forget Ashley.

Des was working in her chosen field as a dress designer when she signed on. Deanna was a real estate agent before her season. Emily was a stay at home mom. I don't consider an attorney as an upgrade in status to any of these.
