I just hope the announcement isn't for Corinne to be the 'Ette.  A season of her nanny might be interesting?    

Ette: the older addition.  . Could be fun!  Betty White is always entertaining!  JMO

I am totally for Betty! Okay I would a little shocked. But I would be sleuthing like I have never sleuthed before, And it would probably be the best season ever.

I think it would be very entertaining personally to move away from having beautiful people constantly being casted and have it be people of different ages and looks. IMO--that would be diverse. If they had a season of over 60's, they could have people in a lot more flexible work situations involved, too.

RS confirmed Rachel is being announced as Bachelorette 13 tonight on Kimmel, as suspected.

I have to say, I'm pretty excited! I'm worried for her, as there are a lot of hate-filled people out there, but she's such a remarkable woman and so different than the last four leads that I actually don't feel like it'll be the same old. And, I'm thinking they are announcing this early to give time for guys who would be Rachel's type to apply, as she's going to attract a very different set of guys than Raven or Danielle M or Kristina. It's probably also to promote her, as they might be able to bring in new viewers who normally wouldn't watch. Can't wait!

I think they're announcing it early so that contestants who are not comfortable with an interracial relationship do not apply.

I'm super excited! Love her, and love that she is 31, so hopefully there will be more older guys this time. And I think she can handle the pressure/negativity. Yay!!

I don't think it's only "hate-filled" people who are guilty of making racial mistakes. Ignorance is common with everyone to a degree regardless of intentions.
Unless one is of that particular race, religion or culture, it's not the same as being part of that subset.

TPTB regardless of who is cast, will still only cast a small percentage of the 25-30 that will be deemed "appropriate", whatever that means. Usually that number floats at 3-5 cast people.

I thought most of the 'cast' is pretty much set, per RS or am I wrong?

^^ Yes, I think most of the cast is already cast. But they might add a few who apply late just for her. However, imo they prob already had Rachel in mind during casting, so a lot of guys are prob geared towards her anyway. But of course like every season only some will be real contenders for her.
