I just read sharleen's flare column and she did a really good job articulating nick's behavior felt so off-putting and disrespectful to me, IMO.

@Lara yes, IA I always enjoy her articles because they usually line up with my opinions as well and she expresses herself better than I ever could.  Another really good one I enjoyed was Caila and Olivia talking to people live. I've never really been fond of Caila but she won me over in the interview when she said that the wedding group date, she would have been out of there. IMO that was the worst date ever shown on TB.

@sbolduc - the romantic in me wants to believe this is true. Nick also said in his earlier interviews that he will give America a... ?good season? (need help, I think he said it at Good Morning America - it was a positive spin like it's a good story. (I heard it as a good love story, I'm sure his detractors are expecting a JPab season). I'm waiting to see, I also don't want to get my hopes up over the spoilers, just in case coz i want to be happy for him in the end.

@AllAboutLove - Nick's redemption, perhaps.

I wasn't a fan of Caila's back in Ben's season, but I'm starting to realize how similar I am to her. I would have reacted the same way she did in that BIP booze cruise she was on and I would have definitely been out of there if I was on the wedding date. I don't think the date itself was too bad (although I agree with Ali, that they are making the season too sexual and it makes me uncomfortable), but I just wish Nick had behaved differently to make the girls feel more respected and comfortable. I'm hoping he does better on the backstreet boys date, but I have a feeling group dates aren't going to show his best side. IMO.

I don't think the idea of making the season's focus too sexual can be placed solely at production or Nick's feet. I think most of that blame lays at the feet of the women who brought it up--Liz and Corrine.
When Corrine took her top off what was Nick supposed to do? I guess he could have grabbed something and joked that no wife of his was going to do that on tv and try to look gallant, but wouldn't that have been worse to humiliate Corrine with her lack of good decision making?
I think he handled Liz pretty well. The only way I see that being handled better is if she had chosen not to be on the show.

I think that he could have taken her aside and said "I love how sexy and free-spirited you are, but I wish you wouldn't do that in front of the other women, as it makes them uncomfortable". He could have said "let me just finish talking to her " when Corrine kept interrupting him, like he did with Jasmine the week prior. He could have stood up to the producers and not given her the group date rose, knowing what kind of impression that would leave on the women he liked. JMO.

I am addressing Ali's blog and the focus of the season being less sexual.
I am not addressing simple etiquette and how it is rude to interrupt others. I am not addressing what battles the lead should or should not have with TPTB.
Those are totally different topics.
I am addressing the sexuality of the season per Ali's blog.
IF Corrine had not taken off her top, and part of me does believe TPTB did plant that seed in her head after she saw Brittany's leaf ensemble, then the date would not have had the sexual ante upped.  Corrine took her top off.  TPTB, nor did Nick, rip it off her. She owns that. She owns saying over and over again Nick touched her breasts.  
It's ludicrous, IMO, to paint that any other way.
For Nick to have done anything only IMO points out her poor judgement and would make her feel small.
As for Liz...I just can't. IMO you would have to be stupid not to realize that wasn't going to end up being anything other than bad. She should have had more sense than to ever be on the show, IMO.

Forgive me, in your original post you said "what was he supposed to do?", so that is what I was answering.

I don't believe Ali blamed anyone other than the girls for the sexuality in the season. I do believe it's partly Nick's fault, because Ashley I and Kaitlyn took off their clothes on Chris's season on a truth/dare, but Chris didn't make it creepy and the season didn't seem, IMO, as trashy and sexual as this one. That's my opinion, not Ali's.

When those ladies(I shudder using that term for Kaitlyn or Ashley I) took off their clothes, they were not being embraced and in the arms of the lead. Therein, lies the difference.
Viewers were taken aback seeing Ben F and Courtney skinny dip and do whatever it was in the ocean. This pool scene was closer to that, IMO, than what Ashley I or Kaitlyn did. IMO And it was being viewed by the group. It was not private.

Overall, I am pretty disappointed with how some of the girls are handling themselves. Brittany asked Nick whose boobs were better – hers or Corrine. Corrine got naked on her first date. And Lacey said “what if I had taken my shirt off, would I have gotten the rose?” I know she was trying to make a point suggesting that’s what Nick wants (and I think Lacey is very sweet). But in general there is just too much focus on sexuality this season already. Even the boob birthday thing at the end. It was funny and I can appreciate humor, but again, it seems like too much for it only being the 2nd episode. As a mom, I sat there and watched the showing thinking, I never want my daughter to think she has to behave this way to find a good man. I’m not trying to put the girls down by calling them out on this either. It just makes me sad I guess. I hope they all know they are better than this.
