Ben Higgins - Lauren Bushnell - Bachelor 20 - Discussion - #4

Sorry guys this is my first time posting so I apologise if I don't follow the rules.

Honestly I don't think Lauren is cold at all, if anything I've heard the complete opposite. That girl is loved by SO MANY people...

She has the most supportive, loving and close knit family.. Also she's a godmother to cute Ceyla who clearly adores her and Ben, people don't hand that role in a child's life to anyone.

People from the bach franchise even girls from her season all have said great things about her eg Becca, Jami, Jubilee, twins, Jen, Caila, Ashley I, Trista  to name a few (Girls from Ben's season have said she's a really quiet person but she's the sweetest and kindest person when you get to know her).

I remember listening to a podcast where JJ said he thought she was attractive on her season but in person she's even more attractive not because of her looks but because of her big heart and personality (we all know JJ is not always the kindest with words so that speaks volumes).

Also Ben's family love her, which he has said many times. Also considering she didn't have any friends in Denver before moving there she seems to have settled in very well with his crew, she's always tagged in pics with them on insta and they tend to comment on her pics and vice versa. Also on hope and humanity insta the charity run by Ben's BFF, there are a few pics with Lauren and the kids.

Lastly, how about all the people she has worked with.. whether it is through press tours, blogging events or other forums they all speak highly of her eg Catt Sandler, Lauren Zima, Valorie, stylist LA and tons of others.. Even Tamera Mowry from the Real tweeted how adorable they were when they visited the real... That's just naming a few and there are so many (take a scroll through the fan page/hashtag)

Also not to mention the bachelor producers for some reason are obsessed with them which is probably why they got their own show.

Great post @clobrown. Add in the much beloved JoJo who also has nice things to say about Lauren. Des too. Lauren, IMO, just has way too many "character witnesses" to the contrary. Quiet and introverted does not equal cold and calculated. She is very warm and loving towards children and animals and that much is obvious. Ben himself said it warmed his heart to see how Lauren interacted with children in Honduras. I think she is a gentle, kindhearted, understanding, patient person who has actually put up with a LOT of Ben's BS to the detriment of her wants and needs.

^ I think its all just a matter of opinion. You bring up good points- I think she is well liked. However, someone mentioned that she posts a lot of vapid stuff on SM and is really into herself and her model poses. And I think that is where she possibly is mistaken for someone that is "icy" and not warm or genuine.

No offense to all those character witnesses, but knowing someone who has met her I will trust their opinion of Lauren over what fellow reality tv people think. But that's me.

And her social media persona doesn't help the opinion many form about her. She could fix that but I think she loves all that vapid stuff too much.

Exactly. I'm sure she's a sweet and kind girl. Most of these people are, however, most people go off of what they see on television and on social media because realistically, we don't know Lauren, Ben or their relationship. What I saw on the bachelor was a girl whose relationship with the lead had little to no depth. I saw the same thing in the two episodes I watched of HEA. Tie that in with the ever present model pictures and ridiculous selfies? Yeah, I can understand why others feel the way they do about her or why they think Lauren and nerdy, kind of goofy, mama's boy Ben aren't a match. All JMO

Also, just as a note, I remember there were some girls, like Lauren Himle, who said in a podcast she never really got to know Lauren because she was mostly with AmanDUH.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't your friend meet her for like a few minutes at the Renesaince fair or some other such public/ meet and greet type event? That's not a lot of time, nor what I would consider a strong solid contact to make such bold claims as to Lauren's character.

My friend actually interacted with her for almost an hour. It wasn't any kind of event or anything. She later met her again at a different event and had the same impression.

I guess I'm glad I don't follow 99% of the people from this franchise is they are as vapid and emotionless as Lauren is on social media.

Not being warm and fuzzy at first meeting doesn't make someone cold. Some people just aren't social butterflies, and take longer time to get to know. That's the description a lot of Bach people have given of Lauren, she takes a bit longer to warm up, but after you get to know her, she's the sweetest person ever. Jmo.

It's interesting because we have yet to see that side of her on SM. Usually these people reveal themselves not long after the show. Lauren keeps a tight lid on this mean/b!tchy side .

I will agree that her posts do support some of the criticism mentioned.  Esp her taste in selfies . JMO

I hear and completely understand what you're saying in terms of SM and perception... How she chooses to use it is not necessarily everyone's cup of tea.. to be honest it doesn't bother me at all and I don't see it as a big deal... Yes she may take many selfies but hey so many girls and guys do it these day.. but is her SM a reason for me to think less of her and not give her the benefit of the doubt.. absolutely not.

In terms of Ben and Lauren... everything is merely speculation or perceived observation/opinion... but I still stand by the point that unless you're friends with or know them personally you truly have no idea what is really going on.. with that being said I take everything with a grain of salt. They seem to have a really good support system from family, friends and church. I truly think they'll figure things out whether it is a good or bad outcome and I truly wish them the best.
