Ben and Lauren Happily Ever After - Discussion - *Sleuthing - Spoilers* - Page 65 Empty Re: Ben and Lauren Happily Ever After - Discussion - *Sleuthing - Spoilers*

Last nights episode was what the show should have been about the whole time. Unfortunately, like the Bachelor itself, it's not always about the love story. But when it is about that, they shine because the love radiates IMO. Ben giving Lauren the wings as a necklace was a beautiful moment that brought so much full circle.

To me the whole idea of calling off the wedding was a storyline yes, but it was based on real emotions and concerns. The producers did what they do on the bachelor and took those concerns and created the storyline. Headlines that reached mainstream media "Ben calls off the wedding" will actually probably increase interest and ratings for a wedding announcement that was pretty tame. And Ben and Lauren got a pay check and got to do cool things and help cool people like rayna.

Out of the two of them I think it's Lauren that has her stuff together. And knows what she wants out of life. I really believe she wants to be a great mom and raise a wonderful family like her own, be kind to people and that would be enough for her. Her blog is just a well executed source of income. (I do believe her blog is above the normal shill because it's clearly very well done and is more than a picture with a hashtag) Even Ben said last night I want you to rock this life because he knows that the only confusion in her life is really due to him. Ben clearly has a few issues, needs reassurance and I really do believe now has felt unloveable for whatever reason. I think his actions are less selfish than many think and I think he knows that it's his uncertainty about what he wants out of life that could hold Lauren back at times. This was a man who was just trying out a poilitcal career only to be denied that. He's still trying to find his place.

Lastly, what they did for the woman last night was amazing. I truly believe that was inspired by Ben and Lauren and the good hearted people they are. Ben's meant to serve others, he should stick with that. Lauren put on the deodorant because it was sponsoring a life changing event for a wonderful woman who has changed so many lives. Secret didn't pay their salary for the show, it paid for the Reno and donations to her cause. Lauren would probably shave her legs and brush her teeth and wash her hair if it meant something good coming out of it so I'm giving her a break on that.

I didn't realize that ^ about the deodorant promo, makes it a lot less cringe! Thanks.

I love watching The Bachelor and The Bachelorette.  I've also been watching Ben and Lauren Happily Ever After since it started.  The only thing I found annoying is the way Lauren speaks.  It's actually called Vocal Fry which is when a woman talks like she has a frog in her throat. She can speak normally sometimes so it's not like she has some kind of health issue.  Why do some women do this since it's not attractive at all?  Has anyone else noticed this?

@BigFanXXX Welcome1

I don't know why women do it but it drives me insane.

Thank you GuardianAngel! At least I know I'm not the only one who feels this way.

Vocal fry kills my ears. Even Lauren's sister Mollie and her close friends have vocal fry. The tone of someone's voice can really make or break their overall persona, so it's really unfortunate to have an unpleasant tone IMO.

Me too. I find that SO annoying and I don't get it. I never heard anyone talk like that before until just recently. What I don't understand is that it's not a pleasant way to speak and certainly not cute or sexy. It makes me wonder how Ben can tolerate her speaking that way. I hope when Nick starts up on The Bachelor, he won't have women talking like that.

A lot of girls have it, surprisingly..or not laugh out loud . I think maybe with the way Lauren and her sister grew up, they just got accustomed to talking like that... With the LA lifestyle or something.. Idk. I certainly don't like it, and I've mentioned Lauren having it since the Bachelor days. It's like nails on a chalkboard. But she has other lovely qualities, so something as "shallow" as her vocal tone, shouldn't be that much of a deal breaker. Though, in all honesty, if I were a guy, I would NEVER date/marry a woman with vocal fry. I just couldn't listen to that naggy scratchy voice every day for the rest of my life, and actually enjoy the person that I was with. So I don't blame people who don't like that style of talking either, but I give props to people who deal with it. All IMO.

It's amazing, but if you Google Vocal Fry on the internet, it'll come up that this way of talking actually started by Kim Kardashian. So now this is a trend by young girls/women. They have to make their voice sound that way when they're talking since it's not natural. Once you notice someone talking like that, it's hard to listen to her speak without thinking how forced that voice actually is.
