Bachelor 21 - Nick Viall - General Discussion - *Sleuthing Spoilers* #3

Yes, I don't have any reason to think Nick doesn't treat people well. I just wonder why giving up a successful career to pursue four Bach shows makes him a great catch with lots of future career options. It just makes him a fame worshipper IMO.

Yeah I agree totally. Nick is just another guy who loves being on tv to me. I don't find Nick to be very different from anyone else who likes to post about their workouts, sell stuff on their IG and try to make a career out of being a reality tv d-lister. Doesn't make him a bad guy, but certainly not a unique, interesting one IMO.

I do find Nick very calculating in finding whatever way works to make himself the centre of everyone's attention. IMO he loves to be the guy everyone is talking about and he thinks hard about how he can make that happen. IMO my hopes of an authentic guy looking for love are even lower than normal this season. I do think he'll do everything he and his producer buddies can think of to make a unique show full of talking points, so there's that. IMO he's the biggest puppet they've ever cast as lead because he'll be happy to be part of the machine pulling all the strings both for himself and the women's storylines. I fully expect if the girls are being too boring, they will send Nick in give them lessons on how to start a rivalry with the front runner or passively aggressively get under people's skin. .

If he finds love, good for him. I always hope to like a season and a couple. But a catch who's in this for a wife?, nah IMO. Just a very seasoned reality tv veteran who paid his dues enough to get on a bigger gravy train. JMO.

I'm personally looking forward to seeing how people's opinions about Nick have or haven't changed a year from now, based on his behavior as the lead and his actions/choices post show. Right now, I think it's too early to say what his real motivations are, and whether he's a great catch or just another fame whore.

This is what worries me a bit! I couldn't stand watching Nick on A and K's seasons. I FF'd most of the time he was on. I was stunned to find out that not only was he tolerable on BIP, I actually found myself liking him, and thinking he was rather attractive. I've been wondering if he was groomed to be more appealing (like on My Fair Lady), or was it purely editing - either on the two Bachelorette shows or BIP, or both? I hope that the person we saw on BIP is the one they show as the lead on The Bachelor.

Regarding Neil Lane in the house, I wonder if first impression rose lady got jewelry too or if it could be part of the first group date? I remember Jillian had a Neil Lane necklace as part of her group date. Just speculating.

It interests me to see how you will view him this time round. You see I liked Nick and saw him as a great guy from first time on andi's season & I still see him as the same way now. I just didn't get why the public were seeing a villain when all he did was be a bit arrogant with the guys in the house then fall in love then get fooled by the lead & his heart broken. That's what I saw & saw him be just as witty and insightful as he was on bip. So I really don't beleive he is this media whore thing that people are suggesting. I don't understand why people watch the season if they hv such cynical opinions of the whole set up & of the leads. I mght be naive enough to simply believe that Nick wants to find love & if I were him I might feel that destiny led me to the Bach so surely there must be some gold at the end of the rainbow. It might hv been a very long rainbow arc but I am convinced there will be a love connection at the end of the day for Nick. I rate the guy very highly & am delighted to see how his story ends/ begins.
all IMHO.

I really liked Nick on both Bette seasons but now I am indifferent and feel he has lost some of his authenticity, by becoming soo entrenched in this franchise with his constant defending of the producers and the show. But I think he is sincere about finding love and hoping he does. For some reason I think there is the potential for this to go horribly wrong. He may think the producers are his friends and and he is well aware of the machinations but they can make him look bad depending on how they chose to edit his storyline

Well whoever Nick chooses if he is sincere then ABC will help him find work so no need to worry. They have helped Sean be a stay at home dad and Jade & Tanner are doing great not to mention, Ben & Lauren and their new show. Chris Harrison even helped Andi write a book to support herself in New York so if they can all do it, so can he.

It's my firm belief Nick wants some kind of entertainment career. (heaven knows why since he's far from one of the best speakers this show has seen.) TPTB may help him, they may not. I personally think that TPTB are going to repeatedly run him over with the bus and play him because he thinks he knows the game. If that's their plan they will be less likely to help him with a future career IMO.

Not the right thread, but Sean isn't a stay at home dad only. He has a job that allows him to work from home most days as does Cat.

Is anyone else but me hoping there's a 1-on-1 date at K-Mart?

Didn't they already have one at WMart on Chris' season? I know Nick has spoken about his local WI Kmart. Are they even in business anymore? They are all gone from the east coast.

Haha CS's season was Costco. They like to recycle dates anyway so I thought hey why not K-Mart for Nick? There are still K-Marts around.
