JoJo Fletcher - Jordan Rodgers - Bachelorette 12 - Discussion

I think they are laying out the tagline for the official break up to be: We were best friends, but we just couldn't make it work. In all the interviews they seem to playing up the "he's my best friend" and "we really like one another" angle. ATFR CH: You two really like each other, don't you?    Duh. Could it be any more blatant what he was thinking! CH knows the score.


There was nothing that I saw this entire season with my own eyes or heard with my own ears that makes me think that these 2 are reciprocally in love or ever headed to the altar.  They might just be friends with benefits. But, in my mind, even that is a stretch. I saw her hang all over him looking for affection and initiate a lot of the physical contact between the 2 of them. (Burned in my brain is when they sat on the couch in the FS. She squeals how excited she is and wraps her arms around his neck and he looks off into space with a completely disinterested look on his face.) I did see some physical comfort and the potential for chemistry, though. 

But best friends? Really? I don't know how you all feel about your friends, but I know with my friends we connect because we understand one another, we don't have issues reading each other, or trusting  one another. We're friends because we can always rely on one another - through the good times and the tough times. I have never wondered: "When times get tough and if things don't go so easily or work out well, will Friend X....?"  No, I don't have doubts about the loyalty of my friends. And while many of those elements with my friends may not be visible to others, there is one huge thing that is visible. The joy I have when I am interacting with my friends. My DH has told me many times that he can tell immediately who I am speaking to on the phone by the (happy) sound of my voice. 

Jojo is a very outgoing and friendly person. She was fun and interactive with her guys. When she was with Jordan, however, I never saw real joy. I saw ease and I saw physical attraction, and whole lot of angst and doubt. I didn't see much playfulness or joy. It was like he drained her energy right out of her. Maybe that's why he says she makes him a better person - he is a kind of energy/joy vampire that leeches her mojo. 

So, I'm having a very difficult time seeing them as best friends. I don't find it all that believable based on what I saw on the show. But, I think it will be the tagline, so that is the angle that we will see played up during interviews.

And, honestly, it kills me to be so pessimistic about a couple one day out from ATFR. I never could have predicted that I would feel this way. I like Jojo and think she was a kind and empathetic lead. I just think she ignored a boatload of red flags and now her chickens have come home to roost.

Plans can certainly change. It can go from we're engaged to now we're not. Did Andi and Josh get a People spread? Did they get paid ?

I found the 3 interviews in NYC very devoid of content. Short and carefully crafted. Also an extremely minimal interview schedule/press tour for a Bach/Ette couple. I'm going with the something is off and it is a matter of time until the truth comes to light. I was getting flashbacks to Josh and Andi on the CS's red carpet.   JMO

Clearly MF and Millsy don't like Jordan. Captain Obvious. again JMO

For realz!!  How many more of the "erase board Newlywed" games were they going to play?  Sheeeesh!  I mean, I knew the answers!!!  And, glad to know they are all caught up on Bates Motel and American Horror Story.  I can Netflix binge with the best of them, but it sounds like they have been spending some mighty "quality" time together in those SHV's.  Loved how Jordan said:  "Lots of Netflix and chill".  Super classy to say about "the love of your life".   I would be so proud....NOT!

Lauren and Ben said the exact same thing about Netflix and Chill on Live with Kelly last season. That's all the couples can really do other than talk

Well, Jordan's family is certainly excited about having a daughter in law in JoJo as his dad has said it three times on his Instagram today

They have way better chemistry at the interviews that Chris/Whitney, or Andi/Josh... I think they seem as real and maybe more at ease with the interviews than Ben and Lauren did.  Now that the show is over and they can be together is when the real love starts to grow.  I saw some real honesty also when she said it was really hard hearing all the negativity in SM. They are working through hard things not just pretending it was all roses.

I take my friendships seriously and they have to be some kind of substance to each and every one of them. I know people... those I just met, those I work with, those whom I have great admirations for, SM friends and met casually and those I've known for years. My best friends are known by me for years.

Imo, I just don't get this "my best friend" thing I've heard over a few weeks time spans when these people know nothing of each other. Bluff!!!

Maybe Netflix, talking, and sex are the only things that some of these couples are able to come up with, but I freaking guarantee that if my Spumoni was in a SHV there'd be a lot more creativity than that! OH, Yeah!   

IA with those that think something  went down between TPTB & Jordan specifically. I noticed that Elan who most of us think is the most friendly of the producers has yet to post a pic of couple on IG.

As I recollect Elan has posted pics of the last 3 Bettes with their F1's even S11 Bette that Elan claims gave him a hard time & was challenging to manage during filming.

Then he posted last nite pics from AFTR of the last Bachie & his fiancee, his children as he calls them with none of Jojo & Jordan yet.

I think Elan produces the AFTR & something went down with Jordan IMO....we will see if we find out eventually someday from the couple after their contract is over....all jmo.

One thing that surprised me and I found revealing on Kelly. JoJo said Jordan has mentioned eloping to Vegas and she is pumping the brakes and wants time and a real wedding maybe next year. High five to JoJo. I saw her being more real on Kelly and ATFR about the problems in their relationship. Also a huge drawback from JoJo never being able to keep her hands off Jordan all season. Very perfunctory now. Maybe they are back in LA to tape the break up special. I definitely think something is up with this pair. Too many warehouses full of red flags.   JMO

What's the obsession with the Bed? If I were JoJo, I wouldn't go ten feet near it. Ew.

Yes, chill does mean "sex". IMO, I don't want my fiance saying that on national television. It is not tasteful, even if everyone knows that is a part of our visits. A man shouldn't speak about it, as IMO, Nick should not have called out Andi on national television. That is something intimate that should be private.

They didn't need to go into great detail about their conversations with specific details, but it would have been nice to get more depth about the nature of the things they discussed, the plans they made, the things they really learned about each other.

And, agreed, MiaHawk. I am sorry, but if it is my best friend and "love of my life/life partner" I could have an incredible time with my man in a hotel room beyond Netflix, "chilling" and eating...much of it would be conversation, but there would be many other things on our "staycation" away from the SM/gossip rags of the world.
