What cracks me up is that 'fans' want them to live a normal life and not be fame whores yet they want to know every little detail of their lives and hang out on message boards discussing every little rumor/tweet/article/FB post ... We can't have it both ways. They are either going to ignore us and the press, they will give as little or much as they like or they will be all out there ...

People are still criticizing Ali for taking jobs in the media. Was she supposed to turn them down to prove that she was 'humble' and not a fame seeker. She's young and she was offered great opportunities that most would die for.

JP and Ashley can blend into NYC like a lot of 'stars' do but they will be photographed and stalked for some time. We will SEE them getting coffee. Articles are already out with half truths about them. I hope the worst is over for them. I'm not sure it is.

I'm one of the 'fans' that want them to live a normal life because it seems to be the key to the long lasting couples from this show. Yes, I admit, I'm loving every little tidbit, but I like this couple more than I have any other reality show couple (other than Rob and Amber). However, I want them to make it. Now they need to be in the real world, with their family and friends who support and care for them. They need to make a life together doing all the little things that people do. Like going for coffee!

I think Ali and Roberto are the blueprint for how it's done. They got out of L.A. as fast as they could, settled in San Diego and started their lives together. I want JP and Ashley to do the same. I expect we will still get tweets from them and they will come out on Bachelor shows and the like. However, I will be okay without seeing them as long as I know that they are building their life together. Ashley has never lived in a big city and New York is about as big as it gets. She will need time to find her way, learn the neighborhoods, the fast pace of my hometown that I still love so much and just adjust to her new life. It seems as though these two have their feet firmly planted on the ground. I can only wish them all the luck in the world and hopefully they will feel the love and good wishes from so many fans who have been inspired by watching their love story! :cc3:

Ever since Jason and Jesse mentioned that on their season, not only were the producers in Jason's ear about how he was F1, but they were also in Jesse's ear that he wasn't, I've been wondering if the producers were similarly trying to convince JP that Ashley wasn't as sure about him as he thought she was. They certainly got enough footage and PIs of him sounding nervous and insecure in the last episode, which we now know wasn't really the case. Maybe they kept pulling him aside and talking to him about the real possibility of her not choosing him, in order to shake his confidence?

Ben has quite a bit in common with both Jesse and Jason, but JP was cut from a different cloth... and quite a challenge for production.

In the first TV Grapevine video, the one with the CORRECT limo arrival order that we have referenced a lot, you see Ben socializing with several guys the moment he enters the mansion. He was always listening to the others, while JP was more selective of the company he kept. People would come to him, rather than the other way around. This made JP a lot harder to "mold" by the handlers than Ben.

JP was the stubborn one and Ben was the sociable-but-gullible one. Look at their reactions to Neil Lane's ring comments. Ben is beaming in his reaction to Neil boosting up his confidence. Neil asks JP "what if she says no?" and he pauses, but doesn't get upset as "they" were probably hoping he would. When Chrystie bugged him, he did cry a bit, but was mostly MAD! (That was not a question, it was a STATEMENT based on 15 minutes! Oh, he let Ashley KNOW about it! Just as he let her know about seeing her with other guys in Taiwan.) There was little trouble convincing Ben he had it in the bag, but it was a Massive Struggle convincing JP that he was headed for heartbreak, since he was "practically 100% certain" about IT, post-Hong Kong.

Hong Kong was a Mighty Powerful Episode this season... let us NOT forget that! The Earth moved that evening. There was a reason we had so many shots of erect buildings towering up to the sky that episode and the Peak Tram practically burrowing through the night. They were laying the Freudisms on thick, even without the banana. Chris Harrison blogged that Ashley reached her "happy place" and even got "cocky" (although he may have been thinking of JP when he blogged that.) Ashley wasted no time ENDING it with Bentley and stated for the cameras that her date with Jayyyy-Peee was the one she had been waiting for since she got there! When she chirped "Who's neeeext!" after seeing the engagement on the HK beach, she hardly even looked at the six guys in front of her, knowing fully well she would be getting her "What do you think we will be doing in a month from now?" answer soon enough. She was out to get what she wanted and JP was out to get what he wanted and the next four episodes was simply the Jordash Saga with everybody else forced to play Greek Chorus.

And this is why we will never see a Mickey or a Graham as the Bachelor. They wouldn't allow themselves to be manipulated and TPTB know it. JMO, but the only reason Jake was ever the B was because they knew he would do anything they asked him to do.

I would say more Trista/Ryan than Ali/Roberto (considering Ali is still craving the media and is about to start a new TV show), but other than that, nicely said! :Nod:

As for Ali, what was she supposed to do? She was offered jobs in the media. It doesn't mean she's a media whore. LA is a big city like many others. CH lives there too and his marriage works. I know tons of regular folks who live in LA and NYC. Ali was helping Roberto give out info for quotes at his office. She's not on the red carpet all the time and even if she was, it's not because she is begging for tickets. People give them passes. I wish someone would give me some. Tenley seems to seek far more attention than Ali does and she is one grating little thing.

I think that the people who are suspect are those who have no real education or talent and cannot make a living w/o bringing up the show. The folks who frequent the Bachelor Beatdown - including Trista - are examples.

I know that you won't believe this, but I actually did type Ryan and Trista originally and then changed it to Ali and Roberto! So you are reading my mind! It's true! I couldn't decide which one to use!

I also was going to say that I finally did watch that last episode of BB and loved everything Trista had to say! She is so wise about this process and what it takes to make it. I also love her total support for JP and Ashley. She believes in them as do all of us. It's almost worth having to listen to Wes, Jessie K. and Dave Good, just to hear her thoughts and of course, Ashley S. and Jason and Craig R. You do learn a lot about what goes on behind the scenes.

Note, I said ALMOST worth listening to those three guys!

You are correct. Trista and Ryan are the real blueprint because they were the first! They will always have a special place in my heart and seeing them together after all these years, happy and with two beautiful children, gives me hope that we will see JP and Ashley like this in the future!

Both Trista/Ryan and Ali/Roberto are good couples, don't anyone get me wrong! I guess I just see that Ashley and Trista are very similar -- bubbly, athletic, and super smart (I mean, they both have advanced degrees in the medical field!). Also Ryan and JP are very similar as well -- loving, sweet, and supportive (though I think JP might be more outgoing than Ryan).

Regardless, they're all 3 fantastic couples, and it's almost miraculous they all met as a result of MF! :Nod:

You can't see it in these pics, but they do keep holding hands as much as possible. I'm not a body language expert, but this brings up an interesting-but-obvious observation. She doesn't want to let him go on account of all of those phobias of "guys leaving" (provided it wasn't all scripted for the show). He is holding on to her to reassure her that he is not leaving. It works perfectly for both. They were completely relaxed walking into the studio with the noisy cameras following them.

I think Ashley's "phobia" isn't about guys leaving, it's that Ashley has had her sights set pretty high when it comes to the guy she's wanted and lacks some confidence in her ability to actually get what she wants. The rather surprising revelation that Ashley was the first to say ILY is interesting because it suggests that once she decided that it was JP that she wanted, she pursued him; a bit unexpected because on The Bachelorette you might expect it to be the other way around, but it wasn't.

As you and I have chatted, Hong Kong was a turning point for them. My guess is that this was actually the time she said ILY to Jordan and probably did a lot more. From then forward, Jordan knew he was going to be her choice and Ashley knew that Jordan was going to propose. They have both said post show that they had ways of communicating things between them; almost a code. It would be interesting to go back and look at all of their dialog after Hong Kong - armed with that knowledge - and try to translate what they were really saying to each other.

All the hand holding is simply a way they stay connected no matter what else they may be doing; Ashley's way of giving Jordan the reassurances that he needs and Jordan's way of letting Ashley know that he's still hers.
