Ben Higgins - Lauren Bushnell - Bachelor 20 - Discussion - #2

Cause why not? Try something new, see if it works and has traction. BIP/Bachelor Pad was nothing until they tried, same for The Bachelorette. It's just a new experiment. Ben and Lauren are relatively middle road, non threatening, likable. Ben WAS a good Bachelor, the show obviously loved working with him (and them). Not to say they didn't like working with others in the past.... But the time is now to give it a try, and Ben and Lauren are here and ready.

I don't know why they are offering this to Ben and Lauren; I know I must be their worst kind of fan because I totally was asking for something like this and I am so super psyched to watch it and I kind of don't really worry that it will ruin their relationship. So, my priorities with them are certainly not pure. On a side note I wonder what the possibility would be to have Des be one of the bach alum on their show if it is about wedding planning and what not. She did visit Denver recently and ran into Lauren. Maybe not such a coincidence maybe they were checking calendars and penciling in...

The bachelor is trying to take over the WORLD THAT IS THE ANSWER. Also i think many fans want to know what sean and catherin Ben and lauren etc. are doing after the show is done.....its about them as a couple and what the represent....ben and lauren if they last and sean and catherine etc are people they want to associate the franchise to because they basically highlight the fact that this show can may possibly...hopefully can work LOL. I think they are experimenting, and regardless of what many say Ben now is the face of the franchise so who better to do it with. Had sean and catherine been in this position in this time period rather than a few years ago when bachelor pad was also airing they would have been offered the show as well.

Well Sean & Catherine were offered something back then and turned it down. Think they still would say the same if they were asked again to show life with a new baby. Now we can see what they choose to show on SM which is better. All JMO.

Now back to Ben and Lauren, good luck to them!

I was also thinking Chris/Des could make cameos! The press release said Bachelor/ette couples from the past would make appearances. I think T/R are a given, but Chres (or at least Des) is also a very realistic possibility, IMO. They seem friendly with each other, and yeah, wedding planning. It could be good promotion for Des. I hope so!

I'm with you. I had reservations at first, but I'm mostly excited now! It's on ABC Family, so the "drama" will probably be limited to paint colors and wedding details. I don't see any big relationship exploits here. I'm also hoping since it centers on them, they have some control here. Like you, I'm not worried at all about it affecting their relationship. If it does, this never would work for them anyway. And it sounds like this is a one and done, not like they are trying to start a KUWTK empire here. On the contrary, the fact they took it on tells me they feel really solid with each other and a wedding is likely imminent.

Ben is well liked by the franchise ( probably their top guy to date) plus him & lauren combined have a greater number of followers on social media which could mean high ratings ( it's always about the ratings = $ ) Maybe they are trying this out to see if it gets traction with the bachelor viewing audiance and if it does it might be something they continue with moving forward after Bachelor & /ette shows. With the new shows out ( coupled,& Famously single) that are gearing towards finding love Maybe MF wants to test the waters for what could be another hit for him. BIP is still going so I guess he figures why not try a spin off especially if the couple seems to be doing well & heading down the isle. Just a thought, what do I know I do know i'll be watching . :Woah-hoo:

The ways to get more money from a network is by bringing them new ideas all the time, fresh, different. That's what MF is doing, and wether people think BenLo are 'boring' or not, they're ideal for TPBP to do this show with. They're appreciative, play by the rules, and have a large fandom. Jmo.

What has the sm response to this been like...are people loving the ideaa other than kaitlyn we know she isnt

I don't think this is a big deal of it . I would think the difference of benlo and the others is . They are planning their wedding through their own spin off reality show. Still a part of them road to their wedding . It just happened they are wanting to have them their own spin off. I wonder how many episodes of this spin off. Anyway , this is going to be a life changing to both of them once their show is going to air . I kinda feel it is going to be crazy coz they will going to be so public already . But it seems they don't mind the publicity based on their interview articles after all they are a product of reality show.
