Re: Bachelor New Zealand - Jordan Mauger - Season 2 - Episode Discussion - *Sleuthing* - *Spoilers*- #2
Lets talk hypothetically.
If i have a crush on someone, and after a certain time, I see that it will go nowhere... I am not getting hot to cold IMO. I am just exploring the compatibility with this person and come to a conclusion that there is none. So when times comes, I am not upset to let go this person or if I see that my feelings are not shared, I am not a masochist and therefore I am just slowing things down and move on. The purpose of the show is to narrow down to one girl after all. Because our favorites are not at the end of the road, it does not mean that the lead is terrible.
This works with any of the girls he tried to know better.
If the show permitted to do not give a rose as soon as the bachelor knew that it was not a match, we would not have that much of episodes. It is said that the lead always pick 5 to 6 people first or second episode.
I think a lot of girls were bitter because of the low budget and because jordan was not brad pitt material. Plus staying in a mansion that is not very fancy with a bunch of girls. Yes, I understand that some were very bitter.
My feeling about storm's departure is that she asked the prods to go and jordan knew of course beforehand. His face was not a happy face when he gave a rose to Fleur and the goodbyes were very short and awkward.
Every single girl who did not receive a rose would say the same thing: they did not like the guy for such or such reason and make it look that they were sooooooo relieved that they did not get a rose. I call it 'pride'.
I agree that Jordan is an ordinary guy but it is me and the disinterest I would have to meet him in real life. Nice dude but no thank you.
This does not mean that because the guy is expressionless that he is a bad guy or something was wrong about not being a predator.
In a way, I understand his perspective. If a girl is interested, she has to show it also.
Anyways. I do not see hot from cold with naz, nor erin, nor gabs. I see it with fleur but maybe there is just not chemistry between them, just like storm and the other before her. plain and simple explanation.

I don't think Jordan is wearing a poker face - I just think he is not into any of the girls.
I think Jordan is just a typical Bachelor going through the motions but the producers didn't do a good enough job to make sure Jordan was more convincing as a lead - perhaps Jordan needed more "direction" with his BL and interactions and may be the type of lead when in a romantic setting/moment needs to be "directed" since he is not the typical non-actor Lead and is used to being directed when being filmed.
Also, the girls don't have any "it" factor either to carry the show for the lead when the lead is more passive so to me it all falls flat and even Naz (while she seems like she is carrying the show) if Naz was on last season's cast (Matilda, Dani, Chrystal...) she wouldn't even be one of the girls that would register, imo.
Ultimately I think Jordan and his season is just unmemorable... like so many other Bachelor leads in the past (but made even worse since Jordan is MIA from his own season and radio/tv imo).
So in a way, Jordan is like most other Bachelors - forgettable.

so I made some S/caps about the rose ceremony just to see jordan's face with each girl. Well, I definitely saw something with Gabs and Erin. He was not happy with Fleur IMO
last pic he is staring at storm.

I had a fav in both Bach NZ programmes Poppy and this time Ceri. During Bach NZ season one though many girls had a following I think everyone still really liked Matilda and were delighted when she became F1 the contestants had huge FB following and there was much discussion and debate. So despite having a fav I still enjoy sleuthing. It is just that this season is getting a bit tedious as there is no oomph.
There is a small following for the girls this time round and little response to articles published on line some do not get any comments, some get one or two. However I note Ceri has liked the lasted Spin article and Claudia liked something as well a SOUT article I think Ceri put a blurb up on her page and Gabs has liked it, never noticed that last year. I think some of this disinterest is partly due to the girls being constantly prompted to pursue Jordan for some Ceri, Rebecca, Sarah, Storm, Nicola, Dannielle have all too some degree intimated it was in some way stressful. Shari wrote in her journal that he was rude. Ceri said she has shingles during filming, this can be reignited by stress and is very debilitating,. Storm felt uncomfortable Rebecca said Jordan turned on her, the list goes on. Something is not jelling. There seems to be an undercurrent of discontentment, Mike Peru mentioned listening to some girls who were in tears. Where is Jordan’s vulnerability when pursuing a girl? He does not want that made visible so the girls are left to be vulnerable. Makes for boring viewing
Naz was given free reign by Jordan to bully the more sensitive vulnerable girls this in part may be due to producers however Jordan said he does care about a woman being stable however he should have been chivalrous enough to care about the welfare of the contestants. He was worried enough when he thought Rebecca may have studied him.
It seems that the constant push for the girls to pursue Jordan created some discomfort and it certainly makes for boring episodes. Personally if a man did not make some attempt to pursue me I interpreted that as disinterest and did bother with him. As a NZer we are more laid back but most expect a man to do some chasing. My two daughters that fit the targeted demographic have utter distain as they say it so demeaning for the women to be always initiating contact they have just switched off.
Looking at the photos that @HEA posted I am beginning to think Fleur is in the outer, any girl who is strong and gives the wrong answer or looks at him the wrong way is gone. I can recognize that look in his eye now . We all knew that moment with Rebecca, Sarah. Storm. Ceri, Lyndsay to name but a few
In my humble opinion

My only question to this would be if those ladies were that uncomfortable, stressed out, was treated rudely then why did they choose to stay. Why did they not just say well wait just one minute, I'm outta here? The ladies that did choose to leave on their own have my respect more so than the ones that stayed show after show and now want to bellyache about it. I really liked Ceri on the show, but I now know I don't even now the real Ceri. She went from being all into Jordon to now being insulting of him.. Something stinks here and I don't think it's Jordon!! IMHO......

If a girl at almost at the doors of hometown, just refuse to speak with the lead, is cocky and play games... I think Jordan was right to be unhappy. Fleur was disrespectful toward Naz and Jordan, no question asked at the rose ceremony. I think she was jealous of Naz and she showed a very bratty personality here and Jordan saw that in Fleur.
During the 1on1 on the bench with jordan, Naz was VERY respectful about the other girls... can we say the same about them talking nasty about her???

@LoveDovz what a great point, something I have not considered. I think as time goes by we will obtain more insight. Yes, the girls are getting Media Coverage upon leaving it may go to their heads, who knows self promotion maybe !!!!!

@HEA oh I totally agree with you I am just piqued that he never noticed all the times Naz has been a bully, with all this hit list nonsense If I can remember correctly Naz was rude to several girls.
I agree my opinion of Fleur has changed as a result.

@Karina
if I remember, Shari said that she asked him a question and he did not answer.... can we give the benefice of the doubt and he was not playing attention with the dozen of girls and crews around him??? This does not define a person as rude IMO
Ceri pratically told him that she was a done deal at the piano 1on1... so saying that he is too old etc AFTER her rejection... really?
Storm kept saying that she needed time and was pouting all the time when she did not have enough attention. What was she expecting really to introduce her parents, to have 12 single dates? She knew beforehand how the season would play. If she was not confortable with this speed dating, then nobody asked her to participate... unless she did not expect the lead to be interested in her and she came for the glitter and the travel???
Rebecca was a prod/edit set up. plain and simple. I also believe jordan was also played by them. He was never into her. She has rights to be upset if the reasons were her thesis. But she never had a chance IMO
wow where does it come from?
The whole franchise is about a guy in a middle of a harem, asking them to line up and publicly reject them... this has nothing to do with Jordan.
I understand people may be disturbed with this show but them I hope they hate ALL the shows of the same franchise because from my perspective having sex with 2 or 3 girls at the end on the other international franchises is way way worse.
just my 2 cennes as usual

I don't know what's going on with this season but apparently on the spinoff's fantasy suite podcast they said that they heard that Jordan's season was a bit scandalous with girls wanting to leave.
IMO no way producers will let that happen consistently, 2 MOT girls Metz & Nicky were allowed to leave. Kate was not allowed to leave & we know according to Storm she brought up HTD as not being feasible for her knowing it would be a deal breaker for Jordan to get her exit from the show.
I don't blame Jordan or the girls.....this is just a different season that Jordan wasn't into a lot of the girls & so many girls were not into him as well...all JMO.

@Karina... we see what the edits want us to see. Remember the script they have, the hundred of repeats the girls have to say about the same thing so they can use it wherever they want during the show?
Naz was edited that way.... are we completely 1000% sure that all the other were angels????????
Kate for me is a huge b!tch right now. All her ITM is about bitching Naz constantly. Does she care about Jordan at all???
