The Bachelor 20 - Ben Higgins - ATFR - *Sleuthing - Spoilers* #3

As they said it's too early to say . I mean real life is the real test . So far they are doing good . Relax . For sure if ever they get married soon tv wedding is going be part of it and I read they are both open to it . For now let's watch the feet . They seem don't want a long engagement as they said . I want them all the best. I mean they are now the hottest couple on this show . Their followers is so huge. They are well love and well like . Jmo.

I thought they were done with big TV weddings after SeanCat but then they gave Jade/Tanner that half hour during the anniversary special. I don't know that they will ever do the full blown wedding special again. Fitting the wedding into the special made sense and they don't have another special coming up so options may be limited.

I'm not holding my breath on any upcoming weddings from this franchise but that's just me. JMO

It's going to come down to if ABC has room and programming to fill and if that coincides with timing that works for Ben and Lauren. Based on the past few January's, the Bachelor has filled many different programming holes on Sunday nights and for a 3rd hour on Mondays. They also fill similar programming holes in August. BIP 2 filled holes on Sunday's last season. So, IMO, those would be the two places ABC could fit it in. A wedding and tie in with The Bachelor could be relatively cheap for the ratings it might pull in when it otherwise would have been dead space. So if it's going to happen, I'd bank on January. Ben and Lauren (and Kaitlyn and Shawn for that matter) also have to strike while the iron is still hot. If they wait too long, they become old news. For Kaitlyn and Shawn that clock is ticking.

I thought a BIG reason Des and Chris didn't get the wedding was because they were back-to-back with SeanCat. ABC likely isn't going to air 2 so close together, and Des/Chris drew the short end of that stick. Ben/Lauren and Kaitlyn/Shawn find themselves in a similar predicament. Another factor that may have gone into passing on Des and Chris is that that they didn't have the huge fan support or following, and they waited longer than a year. It's a shame though, i would have loved to see their wedding and I still feel like they got the shaft.

I think the view that ABC is done with weddings largely comes from RS's opinion from around the time Des was passed. RS has some odd opinions that don't always pan out. Like we'd never have a F2 girl as the 'ette for example.

I believe Ash/JP got married in December and the wedding aired the next week- they could get married around the time and then air it later, while the two of them are on their honeymoon. As long as their is a People mag layout of their wedding pics, I'll be okay!! Plus, I'm sure they'll post stuff on SM when the time comes...I'd love to see a televised wedding, but if it doesn't come to it, I'll still say that they were one of my favorite couples to watch. I hope and pray they make it to the altar - I remember someone asked Ben about how they were going to make it to the altar, and Ben replied, "Altar, no, we're making it through the rest of our lives..." I would be bend me over your knee, slap my behind,and call me Fanny, SHOCKED if they don't get married. I had doubts about most other couples. I'm glad they can relax more that they are done their interviews for the time being, and that the appearances from now on are on their terms, rather than because they were contractually obligated through ABC.

And, I'm biased because I love them, but what is that crap if Tanner and Jade get a wedding and Ben and Lauren don't? They are like Trista and Ryan 2.0. The Barbie and Ken, potentially the new "face" of the successful couples. Tanner and Jade met on a low budget spin off. And they didn't even get much airtime on that spin off. Ben is on Mount Bachelor. He has the potential to be only #2/3 (Depending if you count Jason) to actually get a marriage out of The Bachelor- the original- the bread-and-butter. I hope if he and Lauren make it to wedding day (and I feel good about them), that ABC airs it.

This is from a couple of pages back but I thought "watch the feet" was whether someone in the couple (or both) actually moves. In this case, it will be watching for Lauren to move to Denver.

I've always thought that Ben looked at Jojo as someone who knows the reality tv score and that's why he felt comfortable with her and thought they were on the same page. I think he had true feelings for her but just not as strong as for Lauren. I also believe that Jojo was hurt but not really in love with Ben. All JMO.

I wish Des and Chris' was on TV they are an awesome couple, I was surprised they passed on that but then had Jade and Tanners.  I like them but would have rather seen Des'.

Who knows why they make the decisions they do. My gut tells me part of the reason they passed on Des' is because of the Brooks melt down and how they edited it.

Kaitlyn & Shawn spent the summer after finale in Vancouver and moved to Nashville last September. Ben & Lauren have events coming up in his hometown so it will probably be a couple weeks before she moves to Denver.

IMO we can't compare the 2 couples in regards to who will get married first, who will last longer, e.t.c. because they are different and have their own adgendas and are both living happily together which is good to see and their wedding day(s) will be when the time is right.

My opinion is that Des was very specific on what she wanted. I think there were discussions and in the end Des was unwilling to give up control and her dream. Good for her. She got her dream wedding, I believe she got it all paid for and we have videos that is you go back through their fan threads you can see their wedding.

I have no problem with Tanner and Jade happily doing it MF's way.

As long as each couple got a wedding they are happy with, good for them all.

I think Kaitlyn and Shawn are actually quite happy together. If and when they feel they want that step they will do it. I am not a fan of them, but respect that they don't allow themselves to be pushed into something that isn't what they want right now.

I expect we will see a quicker Ben and Lauren wedding simply because they have stated they do not want a long engagement. Now Kaitlyn and Shawn are unique, so they could change their minds and be ready tomorrow. But based on both couples statements alone, I would not be shocked to see Ben and Lauren marry first.

Again as long as the couple is happy and making their own choice good for them however and whenever they do decide to marry.

I selfishly want to see their wedding. I invested in them, and if they make it down the aisle, I want the pay off. I'm still annoyed we didn't get to see Chris and Des' wedding. All of the couples who have had one don't seem to regret that decision at all! Trista/Ryan, Ashley/JP and Jason/Molly (heck, even Tanner/Jade) all had the big TV blowout weddings, but otherwise live their normal little lives. Only SeanCat try to stay in the spotlight as much as possible, IMO.

The wedding provided for Trista/Ryan was not quite the same as what was provided for the other couples that were "gifted" weddings by the machine. Trista and Ryan had a few steps financially above the others and after theirs things were financially scaled back. It may not have appeared that way, but it was. 
 I have an inside with Mindy Weiss--my aunt. 
The couples that got gifted the latter weddings could never have afforded anything close to what they got, but what they got were not what couples planning a higher end wedding would have necessarily wanted. Guest lists were smaller. Time of year was off. Limited choice if any on venue. Cash bar? I can't remember the last time I attended a cash bar wedding, if ever. 
I didn't get details on Sean/Cat so I don't know about theirs, but I do know about some of the others. Jason and Molly were not even offered an alternate inside space in case the outdoor space had inclement weather. I have never heard of that, there is always an option. And of course, when it rained, they had no choice as it was what it was.
So Des and Chris did things their way and it was what they wanted. Good for them. 
There are always pro's and con's and what they chose worked for them.

Yeah I wouldn't get too hyped up just yet about when Benlo is getting married and who is first, etc., I'm still waiting for Josh and Andi in the "spring," Rob/Ali "next year", Jill/Ed in Canada in the summer, and oh so many more...

They have a long time to go but we'll see.
