I feel like I don't know her or Ben and they are both presented as so white bread their compatibility is not particularly intetesting, because of the lack of information or development. As a result, it still seems to me that Ben's primary attraction to Lauren is shallow and physical - not meaning chemistry or sensuality (those go to Jojo because she is at least portrayed with personality) - but very much stuck in this ethereal realm of first impression or love at first sight i.e. Ben is enchanted with her as if she is a Goddess sent down to Earth, not in love with her as a real, flawed person. That he cannot or will not articulate why he loves her is not a sign of specialness IMO, but of immaturity and infatuation.

I think there is much more to Ben and Lauren's relationship that was never shown, I think it went much deeper than we see on tv. They both seem to have real feelings that go deep IMO. The show has only shown us little bits of what actually happened. Hours of time spent, and we only see minutes. I don't think it's superficial. I think they will continue to build their relationship now IRL.

Another great post. And this is essentially why I cannot buy into the BenLo love story because I don't know what it is grounded on. Yes they may have similar values, backgrounds but how much discussion did we see about this and about where their relationship is going? I hope for the last episode at least they'll save face.

They don't need to save face in the finale or otherwise imo. Ben had his reasons why he couldn't let Lauren go as opposed to why he could say goodbye to Jo. If it was based on faulty reasoning , time will tell. I personally couldn't see how Des could have picked Chris after Brooks. Des had her reasons and it worked, no matter what others felt.

Did I miss these discussions he had with JoJo about where their relationship is going. In the last clip JoJo made a comment that they haven't even talked something. I forgot what that was. It's in the coming episode where he said that was a loaded question. I could have just missed those discussions so can you refresh my memory? Also a lot of Ben and Lauren's discussion could be on the cutting room floor.

How much do we really expect to see on this show, like heavy conversations? They have a few dates, I don't expect really deep conversations in them. IMO if the couple is lucky and invested, they can build on it after the filming ends. What I've seen of Lauren and Ben, they value their families a lot and are tight with them. Lauren looks up to her dad, and Ben can relate, he talked to Lauren about his dad's medical situation. Lauren enjoys simple things in life, Ben appreciates that quality.

Maybe people could call them basic, I would call them sweet, kind and decent people, but whatever they are, IMO they seem like a good match.

JMHO.

I had to comment how I agree with you. It's the LCD and Jojo and Ben haven't even talked about the logistics of their future , moves etc. Then Ben walking to FS with Lauren, he says they need that time to see where they're going as a couple, yet no footage.

Ben says the time he spends with Lauren is about US and about our relationship. It's about who we are as a couple.

They spend so many hours that we don't see on any given date and it's been edited selectively. Previous cast have said that they talk about many important things and most are never shown. It's pretty much impossible to know what a relationship will be like based on anything we see on this extremely edited show imo.
