They don't

Ben's parents have been part of this entire process. He is an only child. Besides being in 3 episodes, I saw them at the Rose Parade prior to the season starting. No matter your pick, that clip made his mom look bad. It was filmed outside and I bet we do not here it during the episode. They coerced it out of her to help with the suspense this week.

I'm speculating. I don't know. But it's certainly possible. It would be one thing to have it aired, they can't do much about that. It would be another to beat the issue to death. Imo having it repeated in media plus being aired would be beating it to death. Say it once--ok, you signed up for it. Signing to the rags etc might be overkill. I don't know if the Higgins have any pull, but maybe if they made friends with someone high up and maybe if they put a phone call in and asked nicely --well, maybe. 
Certainly with this show crazier things have happened.

Just saw a promo on tv and it said BEN has surprise on atfr

It's not hard for me to believe Ben's mom felt this way and I don't think it makes her look bad, IMO. It might make for a super awkward Easter dinner with Lauren, however. 
It's the way I have felt about Ben with JoJo since the season started and I didn't meet either girl personally.

Would not surprise me all to see him re-propose .. With his own special ring .. Betting he is a pretty traditional guy

I was just thinking the same thing about Ben proposing all over again since the ILY to JoJo mess.

I'm not sure if it is this but I think it would be a nice gesture so that her proposal could be all about her and after three months together she could feel like he's proposing with his whole heart not just the half that she had at the final rose ceremony. What other surprises could there be? Why is the Mom video taken down? It's not that bad if you ask me. Why all the high profile bach alum heading to LA? What does Reality Steve know and why is it taking so long for him to confirm? What is going on???

I realize that Ben said ILY to JoJo- a bunch of times- but from the 1st time to the last was barely a week, if that. That's not a huge time to have been in love with her. Unless he's been communicating with her in some way in the interim, I'm going to say it's water under the bridge (and out to sea).
