The Bachelor 20 - Ben Higgins - Episode 9 - Discussion - #3 *Sleuthing - Spoilers*

I finally was able to watch the episode.  I watched JoJo first and then LoLo.

!) At no point did Ben say "I'm in love with you" to JoJo or on camera.  He said many times that he loved Jojo.  Once he said I'm in love with JoJo but it did not seem like the same sentenced off camera, and another time on camera he said that if he is in love with JoJo....  They really have fun together .  Noticed that JoJo and Ben at a pillow separation when they were lying on the bed.

2) At 1:26 of this video did Ben whispered or breathed I love you to Lauren?  Think I am hearing things

3) It was funny when Ben just handed the card to Lauren.  He seemed so emotional that he could not talk.  Poor guy.  Lauren is the only person he said he's in love to on camera.  Also noticed that he did not show when Ben and Lauren met for the night just them walking to dinner.

4) Did not watch Caila.  To painful.

Overall it was not as bad as I thought it would be.  Ben was in the moment on all his dates at least the two that I watched.  Can't wait for finale.

The more I listen to Bens firs ILY to Jojo the more forced it sounds. Like he want to say it as fast as he can. One more of his ILY to her is the same. I find it strange. It was totally emotionless IMO. I find his body language towards her open, and he does look like he is in love with her BUT the tone, the way he said is is so off.

YES!!!! You are the best, I do believe he says ILY! That makes sense, that must be what CH was meaning with him not realizing that he said ILY and them having to tell him. I was wondering about that after this episode, if CH just made that up BUT there it is!!!!!

Great observations .. One more .. He kinda had a catch in his breath when he said her name at the RC

I'm sure this has already been said but I believe the TPTB forced Ben to tell JoJo she loved her.

When he told Lauren he loved her it was so natural, and real and I believe it slipped out. Obviously he wasn't allowed to do that. It would be too obvious that Lauren was the winner, if he didn't say the same to JoJo. When he told JoJo he loved her it seemed so scripted and fake.

I feel bad for Lauren though, knowing her fiancé could have possibly been in love with someone else. I hope this doesn't affect their relationship in anyway.

The conflict between his loving body language towards Jojo and his lack of emotions saying he loves her could be explained with that he did love her but knew he loved Lauren more and that he would choose her and therefor didn't want to tell Jojo that he loved her BUT had to. I don't know...

I don't understand the bolded.  So, did Ben plan to tell Lauren that he loved her so he had to tell Jojo he loved her first???  Is that what you're saying?

I'm mean the producers didn't want to make it obvious to the viewers that Lauren was the one he wanted. It would be hard to edit out him saying i love you to Lauren, so I think the producers made him say "I love you" to JoJo since their waterfall date was after Lauren's to to keep people guessing. They would probably lose views if he didn't say the same to Jojo (which is why I think he was forced to say it). I hope that clarifies things!

JoJo was actually filmed first

We still don't know that Jojos date was really prior to Laurens right? Or is it a fact. I do believe it was because he looked so exhausted on Laurens date so I think that was his last one.

Herein lies the issue, irl JoJo's date was first filmed and first to occur. In tv life JoJo's date was shown first even though this was not the case. So the above logic does not seem to work.
