To be honest this is the first full season i watch of the bachelor. I just remember bits of jake and mesnick season, id never watch this show... im learning smoke and mirrors. I hate it

Until they come up with a foolproof scientific test to verify if someone is truly in love, I never put a lot of stock in the words people say, show me the deeds over time.  That said, I don't doubt that Ben, who I suspect isn't one of the more relationship-savvy leads they've had, and who also was deep in the Bachelor Bubble when this was filmed, really believed he was in love with both women.  I also suspect that the producers/handlers knew this is how he was feeling (he surely told them in their "heart to hearts"), and decided to exploit his naivete, and came up with this new, never before seen "angle" for this season, ie, Bachelor tells both final 2 girls he loves them (early, and over and over, not just a slip up like Andy Baldwin).  Just look how much buzz this new "angle" has generated!  So IMO Ben was encouraged by the producers to, if the women professed their love for him on the FDs (and they probably also knew that both Lauren and Jojo would do so) tell both (it had to be both, he couldn't just tell one or the ending would be spoiled) that he was in love with them as well.  And as bone-headed a move as this would be in real life, he was probably assured that being "honest" with his feelings during this "process" was perfectly fine by said producers.

As for how this may affect his relationship with Lauren post show, assuming he still doesn't think he's in love with Jojo, if Lauren can't get over it (ala Emily), the relationship was not solid enough to begin with and doomed from the start.

ETA Just read Ben's blog, and since he is continuing to lie about the order of the dates to adhere to the story line, IMO nothing he says in it can be taken at face value. He is just a good soldier at this point.

I just thought of something. Not sure what the consensus among this forum is about how many/who Ben slept with, but IMO he only slept with Jojo and Lauren. So, because of his 'faith', perhaps he told Jojo he loved her to rationalize sleeping with her so it didn't look so bad to others that share his faith. JMO.

^^I have watched this goofy show for years, and I have realized that it's not about a love story, but rather a train wreck in which you just can't divert your attention.  MF and Millsy were quite cocky on Twitter last night.  I know they were doing much of... :Woah-hoo:

Kaithlyn at least tried to make things better for her F1 in her blogs. And lets not forget she spent the rest of the season regretful she slept with Nick. Ben is still justifying his love for both.

I guess the best approach (for me anyway) to wait and see. Filming ended a few months, ago, what happened from that day forward is what really matters and is the real truth.

He's a tool. I hope JoJo is his F1 at this point because wtf are his love letters to JoJo in his blog if she's his F2? Does he not get that the show has 1 actual episode left to show, time to tone it down.

I feel about ben the same way I felt about farmer chris. Came into the season really liking him and now at the end I'm cringing for whoever his F1 is. Whoever it is should dump him IMO.

Well if he's a Christian I'm hoping he didn't sleep with any of them, especially being a role model for those kids in Warsaw. It's only speculation if he did the deed or not with whom and how many.

Mommyof1-train wreck is definitely what this show is, gets worse and worse each year. Can just see Becca being the lead next season and what they'd do to her.

Well I would love for it to be Lauren but I would be happy if it's jojo that way Lauren can find someone better.
