Of course they knew full well how Lauren felt and they had to keep Ben from finding out for this to work. At the end of the day they will get the compelling TV they want and Ben will still get Lauren and Lauren will get Ben. IMO the tomfoolery that surrounds how this happened will be quickly forgotten by both Ben and Lauren - no matter how things look to viewers these "F2 complications" never seem to affect relationships in the real world once the show airs.

As said above, I don't think it was difficult for Ben to succumb to JoJo. The cut Vegas clip showed me two people into each other in a very natural way. They looked like a real couple into each other would, so, of course, that clip had to be left out.
