The Bachelor 20 - Ben Higgins - Episode 9 - Discussion - *Sleuthing - Spoilers*

It was literally a one and a half minute clip. I don't think we can tell a whole lot about either of their mannerisms or mood from one and a half minutes. Plus, they are releasing baby turtles into the wild. It's not a time for hugs and kisses. Lol

For those that think he might have said one of the ILU's to Caila - how do you think that will play in the edit? That's a serious question because I can't get my mind around it.

Forgetting any possible real life intentions, how do they make the edit justify him telling Lauren and Caila, then letting Caila go and taking Jojo to F2? Lauren would be the only one left that he's declared that he loves and there would be no mystery in the eyes of the general viewing public. It would be a big leap to create credible suspense that he might pick Jojo over Lauren in the finale.

I keep thinking that it's not only the words, but more importantly HOW it's said . If he's confessing love , there should be a softer more vulnerable tone in his voice. There isn't . If for example Caila came to him upset, saying he led her on etc, accusing him of not caring, it would match if he said, I do love you , but my feelings are further along with the other two. That first ily sounds like that imo. The fact he's wearing that same t-shirt as when he was with Lauren, it could like I said be an interruption to a date and airing things out in front of L, or maybe while he's getting ready for the evening date . The latter might be far fetched but it's the gist of the first ily. Mo.

I think that's our problem. If it's Caila, as she's being sent home, then how can he justify how he talks to his parents about the final 2? Or, how can he say "I just love someone else...more" (paraphrase) if it's not Caila and it is Lauren it doesn't sound very romantic. How crazy would this place be if he was all "I've known I was in love with you for awhile now" (again paraphrasing) and then somehow something bad happens overnight and he says the "I do love you" all defensive to Lauren. Also, what if the weird I love you is to Jojo... how did that come about? It's clearly daytime and he's in his post Lauren Fantasy Suite clothes. I don't know anything is basically what I'm saying. Oh yeah, and this is all just my confused opinion

We may see some uncertainty from Lauren to Ben .. Per her ITM this past eek .. Not nowing where Ben is at with the others .. That may be in response to a chat they are having

Will we .. Or .. Won't we see
Lauren .. becoming uncertain
JoJo .. Become over confident

Which would be totally understandable if she's saying something like "I'm scared" and his response is "I do love you" it just doesn't sound very loving so he's really going to have to convince me. Maybe the context will make it make sense. I do, however, believe if he says I love you to all three the powers that be or whomever would be all over that. It would be everywhere so it's either Caila or Jojo, and if it's Caila I don't understand the sorcery they are going to have to pull off to get any doubt in anyone's mind for the finale.

I don't see him telling Caila ILY unless she's somehow the f2.

Jojo is definitely getting more confident . But being that I'm kinda new to this , is the F2 edit or otherwise always more confident ? I think Lauren's PI of uncertainty is just to show her current feelings , but her natural flow with Ben will continue to build a strong bond. Jmo. That night, she'll confess her love and look how sweetly nervous she is. No signs of negative energy from her.

I agree. I just can't see it. So either he says it to Jojo or we're in for a surprise twist when Caila is F2. I would delight in that because I'd rather watch Jojo as Bachette.

It's pretty common for the F2 to become overly confident .. And the F1 to show anxiety/uncertainty .. Which needs to be overcome .. Which it usually is done with the F1 at the FRC
