Generally when someone fails to make eye contact when they are talking it's a sign of some level of deceit or lying. JoJo did seem to look away quite a number of times but in general it seems (to me anyway) that it's pretty normal for her. As is shaking her head left and right - most of the time. Some people (Ben for example is pretty consistent in this) will nod their head "yes" when they make a true statement and shake their head "no" when they're lying. JoJo more or less always shakes her head "no" - which slightly unnerves me.

Or simply - as Kasha suggests, she's looking at a cue card - or looking at a producer for some direction.

Some will say that the eyes are the windows into your soul. If two lovers look into each others eyes it can unlock a very intense set of emotions - you're in essence letting down all your guard and letting someone see what you feel in the most intimate and personal way. Sometimes when Ben and Lauren touch their foreheads and noses together and just look into each others eyes, that's what I see them doing. It's special. It's very special and it's been a long time since I've seen anyone on this show do what Ben and Lauren do.
