However, it’s likely that there is a good amount of editing in the previews. Saying he is “in love” to one girl and saying “I do love you” to the other may have completely different meanings. There is no doubt he has strong feelings for JoJo, but he may not be “in love” with her like he is with Lauren.
Ben made it clear early on in the show that he was falling for Lauren B. He gushed about her on his People Bachelor blog several times, and while he’s been complimentary to JoJo, he has questioned whether his attraction to JoJo is just physical.

I totally agree foreverlove. His " ILY's" were different. To Lauren he said " I've known for a while now that I'm in love with you. To JoJo "I do love you" very diferent. I think Ben fell hard and fast for Lauren and producers had a hard time with editing . I do think they showed the love story with Ben & Lauren more so then any previous shows. Imo Ben told them that if and when Lauren confesses her love for him he wanted to be able to say it back to her , they allowed it and then Ben had to compromise with them and say the samething to JoJo for viewer suspense. It ws interesting how Ben told Laurens brothers about the fantasy suite that he respected her and wasen't going to put her in a position to make her look bad and with that I believe before Ben spent the night with Lauren he wanted to let her know that he loved her as well. My guess is he knew the chemistry was so stsrong that there was no way he would be able to hold himself back and letting her know how he felt kind of confirmed to her that what was obviously going to happen the minute they were off camera and alone was out of love and not just lust. I know my thoughts sound a bit old fashion but that's what i took away from it and why it went down as it did. jmo

He has mentioned the physical thing in his blog once, could be after their first date. I think he wanted to know if it was just physical (at that stage). I think it mostly is physical with them because I believe that if he really did love her in a love love way he couldn't have lived without her either. I do think he felt really close to her, was veeeery attracted to her and loved her as much as you can without being in love. I also do think that he believed he was in love with her.

I think I posted a very similar train of thought last night. IMO Ben made it clear to the producers that if / when Lauren told him she loved him he was going to say it back and to Heck with them if they didn't like it. This is why the producers kept Lauren from saying it long after she felt it. Knowing that IMO they needed to have Ben say ILY to someone else just to level the playing field and give them a show right up to the FRC.

That's not to say that I think Ben had no feelings for JoJo - because I think he did. In this context and in this bubble it would be very hard not to develop feelings that comprise many components of love. But IMO there was never any possibility in Ben's mind that he would ever let Lauren go if she was in love with him - in what reality would he do such a thing?

In real time, however, Ben had his date with JoJo first.
So in real time, Ben said those ILY to JoJo first.
Then Ben had his date with Lauren and said his ILYs to her.
So nothing ever had to have been said to anyone other than the one he really loved. And that is why I feel he got caught up in the bubble moment and said what he said when he said it. He may in his mind/heart felt it. The degree of feeling in retrospect may have been totally different, but the cow was out of the barn at that point.
I do believe he did a Kaitlyn here, only Ben is male and did not get the same production response.
I found this very interesting. Production dug into K like burrs. We saw her anguish. We didn't see CM ragging on Ben for what was said/done with 2 different women. We will see this next week. Interesting the male/female difference.

I have to disagree a little there Kasha...

Kaitlyn had s-e-x with Nick before Fantasy suites, and after telling Shown he was the one... to me there is a big difference there between that and telling another girl he loved her not knowing where his eventual F1 stood.

That is true in looking at the entire package experience.
However, I was specifically referring to the tactics the producers appeared to utilize in the situation to push buttons(get good film).

IA with your points Kasha. And to take it further, at what point is Ben's own brain and mouth the reason he said and did what he did? It is easy to point to an edit or producer manipulation when what he did is not liked but unless those reasons are obvious or proven, then it is only an opinion and should be stated as such..... imo.

Maybe....he told TPTB that he was going to tell Lauren that he loved her, no matter what, no matter if she told him. So maybe the deal was "OK, you can, but you have to tell Jojo first".

But honestly, I think his ILY's to Jojo sounded sincere. I do not think Ben is that good an actor. And saying it multiple times make me think the same thing.

Agreed! I think he felt it, and it came down to the one he couldn't let go and wanted to make a (try at a) life with.

Sorry for the double post.  I don't think the ILY's were TPTB manipulation.  Ben has been very forceful in his statements in his most recent interviews that he made those decisions on his own.  He said he went into the experience with the mindset that he was going to say what he was feeling and be true to himself.  He felt it and he said it...he felt it and he did it.  Not too different from Kaitlyn living in the moment.

My observation of the Preview of the FRC.  When Ben was coming talking about the woman he wanted to marry, he mentioned that he didn't want to lose her and then pulled out his cellphone.  My question was, why did he think that he may lose Lauren?  But, it made sense to me if he was referring to Jojo and she had just left.  That's just one way of looking at it, imo.
