The Bachelor 20 - Ben Higgins - F1 to F4 - *Sleuthing - Spoilers* - #2

I think Ben can be the most himself with JoJo because there is no pressure. She's friend-zoned. His confidant, good listener through this. He isn't trying to "be his best self" to woo her like he is with Lauren. That doesn't mean feelings don't develop for him and JoJo, but I just don't see how anything could possibly catch up to how he looks and acts with Lauren.

Those that think it's one sided, huh? I think Lauren is falling just as hard as Ben. It's definitely not a Brad/Emily situation. Ben hasn't really ITM'd for Lauren much since the first date. If you go back and watch, it's really Lauren who is narrating their story. She's falling, she's falling hard. Maybe it's harder to see because she's not the Bachelorette, so we don't have her interactions with others to compare like we do with Ben? Anyway, she is all over him. She wants this man just as much as he wants her, IMO. I'm loving Ben- my favorite Bachelor BY FAR since maybe Andrew Firestone. I think he is genuine. I hope this works for these two!

The thing about the two ily's is, why reveal it so early? Now everyone is anticipating it as a huge event much like when Ben asked to step away from the RC and sit on steps to discuss with Ch over what to do. It ended up as much ado about nothing, although I do wonder what was it that could change everything ? Letting two girls go at F5 RC? The fact that Ben says I do love you, and the other I'm in love with you as well spells the difference to me.

So it's not just what's happening in the show , it's what is happening after too. The Disneyland clip with Ben giving the rose to Lauren, also includes Tinkerbell spalashing her pixie dust . Maybe this season was just that magical for Ben and who he found on this show .

ETA:  I don't think TPTB are worried that it's obviously Lauren as F1.  It's more how it'll happen and the emotional fallout for Ben that is the hook for the end of the season.

I kinda feel the same and hope it isn't too one sided. It's fairly wholesome and sweet..nothing wrong with it. Maybe not super wholesome as I did see a Wetpaint post that Lauren was arrested for public intoxication last year..is that true? Will this come out on the show? She doesn't seem like the type for that. (sorry if this has been covered).

If Lauren is the overwhelming choice in his eyes and actions, I still struggle to understand how he justifiably spills that second ILY to JoJo though and so kudos to MF for hooking me and keeping me curious with that tactic.

This was nothing, she was with a rowdy group of friends at a festival (Coachella) and seems there was a pretty wide catch by the police.

My guess would be marketing and ratings..while the show was doing well - Ben's good for business but the Lauren B pick was becoming well known and buzzworthy Olivia was exiting soon. After 2 ILYs was revealed, the ratings went up on the next episode (almost 10% in the demo and 1.1M more viewers)  - best ratings of the season.  Last week, they took a hit because of the Grammy's so it'll be interesting to see how the HTDs perform.

Thank you for the explanation . Ratings are a thing. I guess that's why they drummed up the Jojo drama too. I can't wait to see what unfolds.

ITA. Lauren seemed really genuine last week when she said she's in love with Ben. She really looked it and even more so during the RC. Everyone else looked nervous (and probably cold), but Lauren was glowing and you could practically see little hearts coming out of her eyes. And she looks even more happy in the pics from tonight's date, if that's possible. She looks all in IMO.

Maybe it was already set up for Becca to have a HTD. They start making those plans early in the filming.

Totally mindless! I don't know... I don't think Lauren has acted at all standoffish since the picture convo in episode 2 when she didn't get a date or any validation, so it was understandable. Since then, she's been all in! Her ITMs are very straightforward with how she is feeling. Her actions back it up. She's always touching him, going straight in for hugs and kisses, is playful with him. She was freaking devastated when she thought someone was badmouthing her to the guy she really likes. Am I watching the same show as some of you? I watched Brad and Emily, and yes, that one was one sided. Lauren is not acting anything like Emily Maynard- except that maybe both are a little more guarded and reserved in general. I can see that comparison, I guess.
