Well they could be toasting simply because their son just got engaged and they are just happy for him? Why do these mags have to make everything out to be negative?

I can see that being a factor for Ben IF he was really torn and maybe even a relief if they picked Lauren as well.

In the toasting I presume they are referring to the airplane picture which appeared on IG????? I do think Ben's parents left Jamaica before the FRC. So to my mind they were toasting a nice little getaway.

It was a pic of them on facebook, which we sleuthed the background speculating it was an airplane posted Nov 19th.

Our schedule (not sure if it's accurate). Had the FRC on the 18th. So if this was posted when taken it was the day after the FRC.

I'm a mom of sons and I can't imagine ever picking someone for them even if they'd let me which of course they wouldn't. Not a believable story at all imo.

I agree, I wouldn't want the responsibility on my shoulders.

I'm a father of a son and I can't imagine meddling into something that is so very personal as his choice in a spouse. He is the one who has to live with his choice and he is the only one who can decide who will make him happy in life. All I can do is embrace his choice, treat her as a part of our family, support them and enjoy their happiness.

I think the story is false but could see Maybe in this situation on,yo where his Moms opinion may count for a very small percent of his decision factors.  But I am not convinced he was all that torn, my guess is she just happened to like his F1 best but it had no impact on his decision/the outcome. Just like IMHO Emily was always going home in Warsaw no matter what his parents opinion was.

^^^ The bold and ITA. The show just chose to show it this way, IMO Ben already knew that he was going to send Emily home so they picked her to be the one to meet his parents and make it seem that they steered Ben to let her go. They kept possible final girls away from Ben's parents as they will meet at least the final 2 later on.

While Ben's parents may have had a preference (IIRC it was said they had a slight preference for one of the girls) I think Ben made his own decision. That said, IMO HTD and later on the MTP dates do play a role. It's been said that when you marry you not only marry the person but also their family. So I think as Ben travels this journey and meets families that does have some influence on his decision.

Ita! IMO Ben respects his parents but isn't incapable of making life decisions on his own. I highly doubt he'd let his mother pick a possible wife for him. No doubt if his mother likes his F1 choise more, it's nice but not the reason why he does chose her.
