I don't have that kind of backstory or have any defense mechanisms, but I would have made the same joke. I think 95% of the viewing audience realized that was sarcasm/humor, so I don't see why the girls wouldn't. I think Mulaney nailed it on the after show, when he said this was a great MLK day lesson abut how if someone is different than you, you should obviously treat them like crap. It seemed like classism and racism to me, TBH.
Usually when someone makes a sarcastic remark, they laugh or smile afterwards. Jubilee did not loosen up until she and Ben were alone. I realized it was a defense mechanism and still felt unconformable for everyone. Not even going to get into the racism talk as Jami and Amber were two of most offended by her remarks. IMO it was simply the girls perception of the situation.

ITA. Like I said before, the target audience probably isn't familiar with Mulaney and Kroll, but they brought it on the after show laugh out loud. I actually thought that was probably the best after show of the three so far.

What's really funny is that we watch this crazy show where they isolate the cast and don't let them do anything other than drink and talk/think about the lead yet we still expect them to act like they would irl. I'm reasonably certain that I'd be one of those considered catty in my ITMs should I have ever been young enough and crazy enough to do the show. You're answering questions from the producers and probably not thinking about the many ways they can use what you're saying as a joke (or not). Unfortunately for some, like Carly last season, it can backfire. I guess you just have to own it. I thought Lace did a great job of that on the after show and was able to laugh at herself.

Everyone says things like that during their ITMs. If she said it to Jubilee, then I might think she was mean. Caila's the one that said that Amber and the others were wanting to attack Jubilee and not just talk to her. She and the others in that group thought it was wrong. If she were truly mean, she would have taken part imo.

Re: Jojo and Becca. I see Jojo as way more attractive than Becca but it's subjective. I don't mind her voice either.

I just saw that as her being image-conscious, realizing how it would look if she attacked Jubilee in front of Ben, but still gossiping about her and bad-mouthing her behind her back. To me, it's no different than the girls saying that Olivia was smelly and had fat toes behind her back.  I also don't believe that everyone says that in ITMs because Lauren B, Amanda, Rachel, etc. didn't. Like Maybe I'll change my mind after seeing more of her, but she just came off as very fake and mean to me personally.

Caila didn't say that she thought the others were attacking Jubilee in front of Ben. She was talking to some of the other women at the time and Ben wasn't anywhere that I could see.

As to the other women not saying that in their ITM's, just because we didn't see it, doesn't mean it wasn't said and left on the cutting room floor. I doubt that they would show Lauren B saying it as she is the F1, but Amanda and Rachel have barely said a word the past three episodes. They usually show more of the contenders in the ITM's...unless the others have some really memorable quotes...and neither Amanda or Rachel seem to.

I have really been trying to pay attention to Caila as it seems likely that she may be the next bette and I wondered about her being so young. Thus far, I haven't seen anything that really concerns me. Much of what she is saying and doing is the typical stuff that producers make them sprout off. I was actually impressed when she said that about Amber attacking Jubilee. Sounded much more mature than Amber who is 6 years older.

For me, this is actually the cattiest cast that I recall in all the years I have watched this show. I have never seen so many talking smack about one another. Not liking it at all. I wish they would just stick to showing us more of the dates and leave out all of this BS.

No, my point was that I think that Caila just didn't go after Jubilee at the rose ceremony because she knew how it would look on camera and to Ben. I didn't catch that comment she made to Amber, but if she did, props to her. I definitely don't think that Caila was the worst of the bunch or even close to the being the worst, but I definitely thought that the "I feel so sorry for Ben for having to sit next to her on the helicopter" was a pretty crappy thing to say.

I think that they were trying to give Jubilee the "bad edit" here and it backfired, but I think that if Amanda, Lauren B, or any of the other girls had something bad to say about her, they would have included it to make their case. They showed Whitney badmouthing Britt last season and Shawn badmouthing Nick and Justin and maybe others, so I don't think that they have this thing about protecting F1s. Like I said, I'll wait and see but Caila just reminded me of all those girls I know that pretend to be so sweet and innocent to your face, while gossiping behind your back.

I LOVE MULANEY. Other than his TV show, which I just pretend never happened, he's one of the funniest comedians ever. I'm not as familiar with Kroll, except dating Amy Pohler and his stint on Parks and Rec, but he was really funny too.

Funny you should say that because I mentioned that to the ladies I was watching with tonight. It came across as racist to me as well and I wondered if that was why producers had Amber go after Jubilee? Can't be racist if you are of the same race.

I really felt for Jubilee tonight. I don't know if any of the others were aware of her background and if they weren't, if they have since apologized. To me, she seems much more of an introvert that Olivia and I understood her behaviour with that in mind. Olivia...not so much.

Thanks, I was afraid to say it but I really just got that feeling a lot.

Becca did tweet that she learned about Jubilee's background next week, so maybe the girls will apologize or act differently towards her then? Let's hope, because I really don't enjoy watching mean girls. Brings back too many HS memories.

I haven't seen tonight's episode yet.. but I read Becca's tweet and she finds out next week. She had positive things to say about Jubilee.

So... anyone want to give me the run down of tonight's episode?
