Personally, I don't think it has anything to do with Becca's HTD leak. Families are contacted well before the HTD's to advise them it may happen, it's going to happen, get ready, don't tell anyone etc. Word gets out every season.

They wouldn't change Becca's HTD just because it was leaked.

I think Ben didn't want to take her any further IMHO.

Well I'm not suggesting that Ben wanted to take her along to any point in the first place but I believe that TPTB did want her that far or further.

As for the HTD I didn't realize these were leaked every season. I was under the impression that at the point Becca's was leaked, it was at the "for sure" stage. The "may happen stage" for the 6 had already happened and was passed.

Caila was one of three girls to get TWO 1-on-1 dates. Lauren, Jojo, and Caila were set in stone. The 4th spot was up for grabs between Amanda, Emily, and Becca. And IMO he just liked Amanda better

But what was that hoopla before the RC about then? Amanda already had a rose at that point.

We don't know who took whose slot or if there was even a slot up for grabs. We also see Ben upset during a different RC. IMO, if you have already gotten two 1-on-1 dates and did not get eliminated on those, it's safe to assume you're going to hometowns. Ben had four opportunities to validate Becca when they were in Warsaw and he didn't. She had not had a 1-on-1 in two episodes whereas Caila just had her 2nd the episode before. JMO Ben did not want to take Becca to HTD.

I think the initial plan was for JoJo to be F3 even if she was his real F2 (makes sense if that's who TPTB already had as their first choice for the next lead during filming) and that producers wanted Becca to be F2 again, much like Nick, for drama/storyline purposes (e.g. Becca finally falls in love! But gets her heart broken!), but Ben didn't want to do that to her knowing she wasn't really his F2 girl so he went off script and sent her home at F6 instead. IA that the original F4 spot was always between Caila and Amanda and he chose Amanda himself, but then ended up taking Caila to hometowns anyway when he decided to send Becca home. JMO.

I re-watched season preview—I couldn't find it in all these threads but easily did on YouTube and I now agree that what makes logical sense is that Ben was upset because he wanted to send Becca home but simply knew she'd be hurt.

Amy I think your post makes a lot of sense.

There was a different RC (wearing a different suit) where he said, "I can't do this right now," and started crying. That was likely when he sent Amanda home, right?

Maybe Ben giving Amanda the GDR was his way of telling them that he wasn't keeping Becca. I have a feeling that Lauren, Jojo, and Caila were his f3 choices but TPTB wanted Becca in there somewhere for the drama.

We may not even end up seeing the part where CH says that would change everything or whatever he said.

That's a good point. I do think Amanda got way more validation than either Becca or Emily, considering she got a 1-on-1, 2 GDR, and extra time in Ben's HT with the McDonald's commercial/carnival. As opposed to Becca who just got one 1-on-1 and Emily who got nothing. I did notice that Amanda didn't really become a contender until late in the game, getting her first 1-on-1 in week 5 and then getting back to back GDRs in week 6 and 7. That kind of sounds like a Sean/Catherine thing, in that he didn't notice her until later, but then he was pretty impressed. 

The Caila thing is hard for me to know for sure because although she got two 1-on-1s, she never got any GDRs or a date in Ben's HT. And I've noticed that the first person to get a date usually doesn't make f4 (Megan, Clint, Sarah, Ryan, etc). I'm not ready to admit she was set in stone as f4!  I really have to see these people in action to know for sure.

Didn't Brooks get the first 1-on-1? Idk, I just think if Ben really wanted Caila gone he would done so on her second 1-on-1 or before.
