^ Still... having Becca as top pick in the #1 spot for a poll on a live show is not backlash.

Backlash after the first episode is pretty hard to get anyway. You basically have to be a little .

As a returnee, Becca was speculated she would get a lot of backlash after the first episode. The opposite seems to be the case here which is even more pretty hard to get, IMO, especially coming off a season where returnee just happened.

Cat also most likely knows who Ben picks since Sean knows. It's not like she can spoil it episode one with an endorsement of another girl. In a few episodes I'm sure she will have plenty to say about the others.

Becca is like Kacie B on Sean's season but lasting a few more episodes. Everyone went on and on how they were perfect on paper and Sean wanted something totally different. That's how I think Ben will be similar to Sean and not pick the perfect-on-paper girl instead following his heart. Becca is the only contestant anyone really knows so saying she is perfect for Ben I think is actually a bad thing.

Bottom line is, she could have posted that tweet about someone else.

IMO, her posting that someone other than Becca is perfect for Ben would be FAR more negative than a tweet about Becca being perfect for Ben.  Imo, Cat tweeting "Why is Becca back?!" would have done the trick if it was meant to be a negative towards Becca.

So to me, I don't see the logic that Cat would tweet that about Becca and it be negative.

If anything, if Becca continues to be a fan fave for Ben by viewers then her leaving won't make viewers dislike Becca or see her in a negative way since Cat tweeted she is perfect for him and he let her go. It could backfire actually. JMO

Seeing as Becca and Amber are the two returnees and the ones we ... and Cat ... know the most about, I can see it being perfectly logical that Cat would endorse Becca as being a good match. This is the first episode. We only got to see a brief snippet of most of the normal women...the ones who would be a likely match...because they focus on the crazy. Even people who are spoiled, still know less about the new women than they do about Becca. A random tweet by Cat doesn't mean much this early in the season. As the season goes on and we get to know the other contenders, I'll bet that Cat will be praising them as a good match also.

If Becca and Ben were going to be, much like Kacie B and Sean, it would have happened before filming. Much like Sean and KB, Becca and Ben match on paper. Which means nothing.

I believe Ben had no desire for Becca or Amber to return. He is going to keep Becca around because TPTB wanted her to be there. And IMO, if they wanted her for bachette she would have had a HTD. Ben has done their bidding on Kaitlyn's season and even his by not discounting Lace even in interviews. I think if TPTB wanted Becca as the next lead she would have made her top 4, they let Ben not take her to HTD because they felt they had better options.

Ben by HTDs knew his F1, so I honestly don't think he would care if F4 was Amanda or Becca, except maybe meeting Amanda's kids would have been an extra deterrent. I can't imagine Ben wanting to meet her kids before dumbing her. To me that screams TPTB's call and proof that the already gone Becca didn't interest them as the next lead anymore. JMO.

Well, if she really didn't win the poll but TPTB "fixed" it so she would appear to be the winner/most popular, then that's an even stronger indication that AT THIS POINT (subject to change as the season plays out) they are looking at her as a top contender to be the next lead.

Wasn't there some spoiler/rumor that Becca was definitely slated to get a HTD, and then at the last minute things changed?  If this is true, I suspect it might be because Ben really felt guilty about leading her on any further and insisted on sending her home, despite producers' plans to give her a top 4 finish (for Bachelorette consideration).  And I think it was likely Caila who was dragged along in her place (Amanda was always going to get a sob story HTD so they could exploit her two adorable children ), so maybe the plan was for Becca to finish at F3, which is always the preferred spot for the next lead.

Look, I don't care a whit about Becca either, but I have to acknowledge that she does have a strong and relatively sizable fan base who think she's all that, and right now, I think that's who the producers are listening to.  If things change as the season progresses, and one of the other finalists becomes super popular, they'll go in a different direction. But as someone mentioned earlier, the other three options all have drawbacks as well.

A question-  Do we know if Becca's choice to remain a virgin is grounded in some moral/religious belief, and she does not plan to have pre-marital sex, or is it more that she has never had a really serious relationship yet, so has never gotten that far with a guy?

I would still be surprised if, for the first time EVER, they broke the mold in casting their Bachelorette.

She is waiting until marriage. She wants to be able to share that special moment with her husband. And yes, it is part of her faith.
