But I agree, don't talk about not wanting to be judged, yadda, yadda, yadda, and then go on the show AGAIN. Especially when it's a competition. People are going to pick their favorites and ruthlessly judge the others.

I'm sure Becca is a nice girl, but the show hasn't even aired and she's already causing drama. Especially with that stupid tweet. She obviously likes being talked about and if you like being talked about don't expect it all to be good. Let's just wait and see how much more drama happens on the show.

That is just the thing. During her first appearance, she was pretty much universally liked. While there was the odd person who wasn't a fan, even those didn't really seem to dislike her. They just seemed to find her kind of boring and blah. She could have walked away with that stellar appearance and positive impression. Yet she goes back. I can understand someone like Nick returning since he really had nowhere to go but up and he didn't care what people thought. She...and her family...clearly care about image or they wouldn't be complaining...for very, very, mild negativity that comes their way. She has to have seen that the public doesn't care to see returning contestants...no matter who they are. Generally, the second appearance doesn't go over as well as the first...unless they end up on BIP. So she risked it all for a guy she doesn't know despite warnings from family and friends? I'm not sure I buy it. She does seem to crave attention. I have to think there is more to this than just Ben. I can see her being tempted by Ben, but also by tptb dangling the next Bette to her. Not that I think that they would give it to her...virgin who has never been in love, fails twice on the show and says the process is too quick for her. I don't see them taking that chance but I could see her wanting it or just the attention she will get from being on a second time.

I don't think ANYBODY goes on this show for one reason and one reason only.  And if they do, they are foolish and haven't thought through the possibilities of what could happen as a result of their appearance, the good and the bad.

IMO, Becca went on the show because she would like to date Ben (and fall in love with him if he reciprocates), she enjoyed the social aspect/travel/adventure last year and was happy to do that again (and apparently doesn't have a job/career that would be jeopardized by her absence), liked the positive comments and adulation she got on SM and hoped it would continue in that vein if she did the show again, and perhaps thought that there would be a possibility of becoming the next Bachelorette if not chosen (I don't doubt the producers would have mentioned that to her; they apparently use that carrot A LOT, even when they have no intention of following through).  Those factors must have outweighed the drawbacks in her mind, which would include her family's skepticism/disapproval and the possibility of a bad edit or getting her heart broken.

There are still at least 9 girls there. I wouldn't put much stock into that meaning he likes her. And yes, producers can make him keep her, sometimes people make it to the final 4 that the lead doesn't even really like.

I think she went on the show again because she liked what she perceived of Ben and had peace to follow through on finding out if there was anything there. JMO

Yeah, exactly. I'm sure Ben was the primary reason she went and I honestly don't think she would have gone on if the Bachelor had been Nick, Shawn, Chris, or whoever else. I do think she really likes the idea of Ben. That said, she wouldn't have contacted CALIA if there wasn't a part of her thinking "I could probably use this show to get more opportunities and endorsements!". If it was just about Ben, she wouldn't have contacted CALIA. It's just that simple to me.

Becca going on a Nick season as a virgin would've been hilarious.

I don't think she would've gone on if it was Nick, Shawn or even Josh, but I could've realistically seen her going on for Chris or Jared.

Yea I'm sure most first time contestants are not in the know about getting companies to give them free clothes/jewelry etc. to promote. Some might, but most prob just have to wear their own clothes.

Of course Becca enjoys the perks of the show, everyone does no matter how genuine, there is nothing wrong with that and I would do it too. I can't stand when people don't admit that though it's annoying, her friends claiming she's not interested in that at all. If she didn't like promoting product and attending events she wouldn't do it. There are plenty of contestants who DONT do it much/at all. It does get annoying when contestants KEEP trying to milk their appearance on the show for everything it's worth and that's all they do, attending bachelor events ALL THE TIME. I hope Becca doesn't end up doing that, I don't think she will.

Curious if RS is behind in giving info as compared to other seasons.I wonder if he is not getting as much this year from his contacts or if this is a common pace for him.I haven't kept up with him so just interested to find out from all of you.

I checked compared to last year, and I think it's about the same. Last year, he actually had 9 (versus 6 now, granted 2 of those 6 are returnees) girls released in the beginning of Oct, but then didn't release anymore until the END of Oct.

He wrote today that we would have everything six weeks before the season started...which is rather specific....not that that necessarily means much with him. He also said that the girl from the fashion show was the first person he heard about for the season...I think he said in June. Plus since he said she has the same first name as two others, he clearly has more names than he has given out.

I find that the seasons when there is less info out in SM, he holds on to the spoilers because people will keep checking on his site, so he gets more clicks. When the info is more readily available, he shares more because he has to stay on top of it.

Hopefully we will be hearing more soon. I want the hometown dates to go back to hometowns because some of that usually gets spoiled and we get some more ladies as a result. It seems harder to get info when they are travelling like they are at the moment. If Becca gets a hometown we'll probably get some info on that or if we know that four others got HD then we will know she is gone. Fingers crossed.
