In this interview with E!, he brings up that Hong Kong date again! Dang, I want to know what was so freaking great about it? I recall the card said, Let's Get Our Hearts Racing, but I still don't get how they came up with that.

Before leaving the group date and heading to the beach for the "under the umbrella" smooch session, I get the feeling that Ashley was ready to get away from the other guys as much if not more than JP. I guess the PJ date was still on her mind! Can't say I blame her.

You are correct mnm and we know what they meant about PEAK into the future.

Atem, the racing one was for the group date where they had the boat racing.

I think CH clarified that the frontrunner change would occur in the final episode, and it did, but only in the very misleading edit, not in actuality. They threw everything at JP that they possibly could in that edit, and it did convince some people that Ash was going to pick Ben, although I doubt many JP fans were fooled.

Seeing the deleted scenes now, i.e. the Jammie date and hearing from JP and Ashley that something very special happened in Hong Kong, I see now exactly what JP's means when he said he was confident she didn't have with the other guys what she had with him, and he really wasn't being cocky, it was all true. And, imo it started very early on, as she said.

Ah, I didn't know he clarified on that. I personally wasn't fooled by it and I doubt many Ben fans here were either, but that could be because we all know how they like to mislead us and to look out for that. I can see maybe how some casual viewers might be fooled into thinking that it'd be Ben. I still knew it would JP since episode 3 and I don't think anything would've convinced me otherwise.

CH was telling it like it was--there was a change in the frontrunners--Ben went from F3 to F2 because Dino who was supposed to be the "easy to let go" F2 decided to go home. The F1 never changed. We have to be very careful with CH. We often miss his "truths."

It didn't help to have completely fabricated "10 standing firm sources saying Ben was F1" lol. We need to be very careful with spoilers til we see they are credible and those never were and ridiculous. Just something else thrown in to muddy waters. We JP fans never fell for it for a minute, we saw from early on, JP and Ashley's special connection, which only grew stronger each episdoe

ETA, agree Beader, it never was a change of JP as F1.

The only thing that gives me pause on that is the fact that I don't believe TPTB would've ever allowed Ashley to take Constantine to the F2 if he had stayed, even if it's what Ashley wanted. He would've never been believable as JP's competition seeing as he didn't even kiss Ashley until his second 1-on-1 date and that was right before hometown dates. I think Ben was picked to be F2 way before that based on getting the overnight date like Chantal and Molly. TPTB definitely wanted him as F2 even if Ashley didn't.

Glad you both reminded me about the dragon boat race too.

She told Harrison in Fiji: JP and I have this thing about being on beaches. Our relationship keeps progressing. It keeps moving forward on a beach and this was no different.

Well... apart from Phuket (uh duh!) and Fiji (uh duh again!), what other beach was she on? Hong Kong. Yet, JP was not on that group date. Yet he MUST have been on her mind. When they observed that engagement on the beach, she didn't look like she was facing the guys when she chirped "Who's neeeeext?!!"

Sure enough, the next date we get this:

Ashley: What do you think we will be doing in a month from now?
Jordan: Um. Something having to do with getting down on one knee, maybe…

Ha ha ha! Love our dorky goofy Bachelorette!
