I think CH clarified that the frontrunner change would occur in the final episode, and it did, but only in the very misleading edit, not in actuality. They threw everything at JP that they possibly could in that edit, and it did convince some people that Ash was going to pick Ben, although I doubt many JP fans were fooled.

Ah, I didn't know he clarified on that. I personally wasn't fooled by it and I doubt many Ben fans here were either, but that could be because we all know how they like to mislead us and to look out for that. I can see maybe how some casual viewers might be fooled into thinking that it'd be Ben. I still knew it would JP since episode 3 and I don't think anything would've convinced me otherwise.

I think for the casual viewer, bias towards or against one contestant totally changes how they view things, and what they concentrate on vs what they ignore. I read a few on line articles today and saw some posts in response, and was amazed that some people are still convinced Ashley made a mistake and should have chosen Ben. They apparently totally missed or ignored all her chemistry with JP, plus the fact that she's crazy in love with him and not Ben. Pretty sure the latter alone would really be a deal breaker as to the possible success/viability of an Ashley/Ben relationship! :giggle:

One thing I think we're seeing post show is that Ashley is a very physical and affectionate being, and she needs a guy who is going to lavish physical affection on her, and not mind her doing the same to him. Obviously JP is the same way, but unless he was totally inhibited by the cameras, I don't see Ben as being really comfortable being quite so forward. (I think he grew up in a more reserved environment with his "Martha Stewart" mom than JP did with his family of huggers and kissers). In that sense, I don't think Ash/Ben would be compatible, dueling dog voices notwithstanding.

He did correct it, but only AFTER the episode aired and people were calling him out on it. All in the name of ratings my friend. Ughhh

That is what JP said to Ashley when he met her. They had to cut that out since they didn't actually show him last.
