No, on ABC - can't see any of the deleted scene, etc videos and the link for the forum seems to be gone. Wonder if people were posting spoilers.

Below is my post from another thead, but I'm going to post it here to.

I think people have to realize that the concept of this show is that people are going to get hurt.. no ifs ands or buts about it. It happens every year, and the lead becomes the scum of the earth for hurting a poor unsuspecting contestant. Sorry but thats the nature of the beast. We can all sit here and say "well I'd never" ... but do you think Ashley went on there saying "well I would"?? JP nailed it when he said on his HTD that at the end somebody was going to be hurt... and this year it was Ben. The Bach/ette has to lead somebody on and I'm sure it's more uncomfortable for them to actually do than it is for us to watch. And do I think that when Ashley was getting dressed that morning that she planned out how she was going to let Ben get down on his knee to propose, just to humiliate him? of course not.... it just happened and I'm sure nobody regrets those few minutes more than she does. I know "I hope I'd never" but until I'm in those high heels, I won't really know, I'll give her a pass as there's nothing about her that suggests that she's the heartless witch that she was made out to be

As I mentioned earlier, let's all give Ashley a break on the FRC. If anything goes down that seems wrong, or inappropriate, blame it on TPTB for leading on the F2 and perhaps telling him to get down on knee right away, and he was naive enough to do it.

Ashley is not the evil one here, TPTB are for the way they handled it. (ok off my soap box, I just hate that Ashley may get bashed, when all she did was meet the man of her dreams and fall in love and he did too)

Bottom line, Ashley could of and should of stopped it or done it more diplomatically. This is a discussion board to put your opinions on and this is mine.

.....and in my opinion I am going to wait until I see it with my own eyes before I pass judgement. Even then who am I to judge? Until you've walked in some ones shoes.....

All I am saying is that day is hard enough on the F2, so why allow it to happen? Why go out of your way to allow for the day to be harder than it has to be on everyone...........again, I will reiterate........I don't care who the F2 person is..........the point is why make this day doubly hard on that person.........definately not what an individual should do. Whether they are the producers that are wanting it, why couldn't Ash of stood up for the F2 person and said no, not going to allow that to happen.........

I agree with you Coastal, but I also can't even imagine the kind of pressure (financial, etc) that the producers place on the F1. I agree she should have stood her ground, but I will also wait until I see it and see how bad it is. Maybe she is surprised he proposed, IDK.

I thought the same way back when DeAnna did the same thing with Jason, and I was on Jesse's team back then. I just feel that anything that makes the day harder is the wrong thing to do and as individuals, they all should have a say...........

I don't think there is any way Ashley knew it was coming. I think TPTB talked Ben into it...I have heard they can be pretty convincing aka Reid coming back, Jeremy coming back etc. It seems this happens on the Bette seasons because the guys are the ones that propose.

I guess my point would be.........as soon as she saw Ben go down for the proposal, then stop it right there.....that's what I am saying. I know there are some that will think I am still talking about Ben.......all I am saying, I really don't care who the F2 guy is.........it is wrong to let them go through that when you know you won't accept the proposal anyways.......not to mention that proposing to someone should be a special thing....not just a thing that you let someone do that you have no intention of accepting it. IMO.

Great post! Let's also think about this logically: what woman wants to be proposed to twice within in a matter of hours? Of course she just wanted to be proposed to once and from the man she loved. As much as I am annoyed at the manipulations of TPTB, I'm thrilled they gave Ashley and JP a trip to Fiji. That's really awesome for them and well deserved with all the crap they put this wonderful couple through!
