Re: Andi Dorfman - The Bachelorette 10 - Discussion - #4
I don't know if any of you ever read another forum on this vast cloud called "the internet". There are many forums and public "walls" where people can write their thoughts with no restriction how they address the other members. And things can get pretty ugly, almost threatening, posters bullying others posters, when there is no such a rule that this forum has installed. No negative, angry, insulting, verbally attacking posts towards the members. We are "safe" in our anonymity, but we aren't really unknown, our PIN code is possible to trace, our e-mail/name can be found on the servers, so we are accountable for our own voice and what we offer to this society.
This is the forum where the subject of the debate are people who make the "reality dating shows". The show is made of the cast (the leads and the contestants), the crew, behind the scenes people, the producers, handlers, editors, reporters in the media, self-proclaimed "mediums" who "know everything". And they make it out of "our" money. The viewers, the audience, the targeted "buyers", the consumers. "We" bring the ratings, the sponsors, the hype, the demand, the word spread and popularity to those spoke-people who lend their faces, their bodies, their lives for the entertainment. And as their "temporary" job. They choose to showcase the tiny bit of their life ... they choose to make their life important, important enough to be seen on TV, talked in the media, written about in the press. Their life and "our" lives aren't that different, but theirs are on the display ... and they choose it so. By entering to "compete" on these kind of shows (whether it's The Bachelor, The Big Brother, The Voice, The celebrity Apprentice, The Survivor, Dancing with the stars, The X factor, ...) and by continuing to share (and overshare) their everyday ... by posting pics, quotes, places, people they hang out with, products they use, products they advertise for "us" to try ... on their social media.
SM has opened the doors to every "anonymous" soul to make their life "important" ... like "we matter because we are seen". This show just adds the popularity and more "clicks"/hits ... numbers generate the profit (eventually and if people are business wise) and even if the money is not the ultimate goal, it does produce the means to achieve the recognition, make out of these people a "public servant" for the causes that can make a DIFFERENCE.
I agree that we all should be wiser how we spend our time and energy, but sometimes we just want to laugh and make fun with our friends in our "living room" ... and sometimes those "friends" are virtual and the "living room" is this forum, because nobody else in your house watches the same freaking show.
And we only can do that with the information we have on our disposal ... the information that those "people on TV, SM and press" are offering to us ... giving us for "free" ... since we pay for television, internet consumption and the "daily news" anyway ... sharing with us with a clever intention (and their motive might not be so clear) ... so it's up to us to be just as clever and to use our critical thinking. At the end, it's our "free" time and our "money" that we are "wasting", "spending" on these people ... just by watching, discussing, posting ... or maybe even buying their "product" (whatever it may be). -IMHO.
Comfort Zone is just a prison of our own making. / I hope you dance.

Andi posted a quote saying girls compete with each other, women empower each other. Lacy Faddoul commented with "Women should practice what they preach". Ouch! Was that shade? Several of Andi's followers thought so!
If it was, it wouldnt be the first time someone has called Andi out like this. Lacy knows her and has spent time with her on several occasions, most recently at a Magic Mike premiere event and then on GMA for the "Bach Reunion". If she was throwing shade, she must really feel Andi is a hypocrite for posting that.
On another recent IG post of Andi's she had a pic from backstage at NYFW where she and Catherine Lowe were holding up a sign saying "Be friendly etc. etc.......Don't be Snobby". Here was someone's comment:
courtdawg12 Andi came into Banana Republic in Kansas City, was treated with exceptional customer service, and was completely rude and snobby to the staff. Josh was really nice- just saying. Live by what you say.
There have been more comments just like this on other posts of hers but I can't bring them here.
I'm aware that there have been posts saying nice things about meeting Andi too, so it's not all negative. And I know people can just have bad days. But there has definitely been enough comments about her from people who crossed paths with her to make me think that she often does not pratice what she preaches.

Not surprised she'd think that, though.
I rolled my eyes when this IG popped up in my feed.

Courtdawg12- interesting that she is clearly a bulldog and lives in Athens so I'm going to take that comment with a grain of salt (considering it would have been from almost a year ago and she's just saying it)
Question, who was the stylist in Andi's photo. Is he from the show?

I did hear from someone who went to high school with Andi that she wasn't very nice and was the typical "popular girl bully" so I'm not surprised that others have said the same.
