Chris Soules - Whitney Bischoff - Bachelor 19 - Discussion

Gale- I too wish for more pics of our happy couple but neither are big SM people.  They seem to be learning they have fans who want to see them and are doing more SM, but I don't think they will ever be the type that constantly post constant OTT declarations of love on SM or pics every time they take the garbage out. 
EVERY  "celeb" contestant on DWTS is constantly posting pics with their pro partner.  It's a required part of the show and they need fan votes to stay on the show.  I wouldn't read too much into the pics of Chris with dancing Witney. 
Wise members, here much longer than I, have repeatedly said that the constant posting on SM is not a true measure of the health of the relationship and have seen many examples of couples posting lovey dovy pics right up to the day the break up announcement is released. 
I am as hungry as you are for pics but please don't despair. In between the pics we do get, I comfort myself with the interviews, like the recent one where Chris said, paraphrasing, that Whitney is not threatened by dancing Witney because Whit is a mature adult who "gets it", that there is understanding and trust, and that is exactly why he chose her.  

I actually don't think Whit is threatened at all by Witney. I see problems arising in their relationship that have nothing to do with DWTS. JMHO

It's refreshing to see a Bach couple remain as they were prior to the show - as much as possible in the glare of the spotlight. Whitney doesn't seem to be the insecure, needy, jealous type. That may be a result of knowing who she is as a woman and in addition to being professionally successful.

Both families have embraced this couple and are sharing in their exciting new adventures. It's good to see the Whitneys hanging out without Chris as well. Now on to the rhumba...

I think you have a reason to worry.  JMHO     Sean posted pics and tweets about Cat by the way...  No comparison.  Guess time will tell, but I do think they are probably "navigating" through choppy and "flimsy" water.     JMHO as always.  

Gale, I disagree with the bolded. You have no reason to worry about their future as it really not within our control and up to Chris and Whitney.  There is a small percentage of success for any couple coming out of this show.   Enjoy them in the now and have fun with it.  From what I see, they are enjoying each other, intermingling with both of their families and still in love and happy.

They seem to be doing just fine from what I can tell. I think they're one of the most mature couple that we've seen in a long time. Not sure where people see problems but as always it's subjective.

It is just my opinion and happy we can express our opinions here even though they are not the same as others. I was concerned with what I saw on the show and what I saw at the ATFR. It is subjective and I know I am not alone, but it is just my opinion. As I said before, time will tell, but I have my concerns based on what I saw, and heard, AND with what I am seeing now. Others will disagree and that is okay. ;)

There will always be 2 sides : on one hand the fans who keep supporting their couple, and the others who saw during or after the season things that make them believe the couple is doomed.
I remember the exact same discussions with the Brad/Emily, Emily/1F, Andi/Josh etc... Long list. Everything seemed perfect in paradise until it was no longer. Sooner or later. Only time will tell.
But you are right, it's a good thing that both sides can agree to disagree and show that there isn't only one way to "see and interpret" signs from the couple status.

In fairness to Chris/Whitney, there were many people who also thought that Sean/Catherine, Jason/Molly, and Chris/Des would never make it either. And, we did later find out that, for example, Sean/Catherine DID have issues during DWTS so those opinions weren't completely unfounded. So, there are a a couple of possibilities - C/W are doing great and are just awkward on TV, C/W are having issues and that is a sign of doom, or C/W are having issues, but will work them out and come out stronger. I personally think it's going to be one of the latter two, but we'll never really know until one of them writes a book, I suppose.

I do think it's premature to say that things seem fine with them right now. Even in couples that had very immediate issues, like Jake/Vienna, that didn't become public until months after the finale. We're only 3 weeks removed right now and that's really not a lot of time. Cynically speaking, breaking up during DWTS would probably be the worst move ever so if there was an impending break-up, it would never happen now anyways. All, JMO!

Must say MiniDiva I agree with you whole heartedly!! Wish I had kept my thoughts to myself now & not blurted them out as any relationship in life can either succeed or not make it & as far as I can see Chris & Whit seem extremely happy with their lives together so definitely going to enjoy them in the now. Only wish of mine is that I do so wish they would post more on SM love the titbits & news on them both. :Nod:

Love your post chasing! I agree it's way to premature to say things are just fine between them. ;) Happy we can come in this thread and post opinions----positive and negative.

I agree with all of you. I think Chris and Whitney seem alright for now, but they've only been out in the open for 3 weeks and are currently in the middle of a popularity based TV competition, so I think it's way too early to be confident. I have noticed a change in Whitney since the show and I'm not sure how I feel about it. She's much more subdued than she seemed during the show. I actually prefer her like this, and if this is the normal Whitney then that makes me believe in their relationship a lot more. If it's not and she's like this because she's unsure about their relationship, then that's not promising at all. The fact that they haven't even started planning a wedding yet is also a bit alarming IMHO. Not saying they should have a date set, but I think some preliminary planning would be normal for a happily engaged couple. Yes, it is a good thing to act realistic and take things slow this early on, but again, it's a change. And lately I've heard time and time again from even the most realistic people, like Sharleen, that when you know you know. Chris and Whitney slowing down the pace after the whirlwind engagement makes me wonder if one or both of them are a bit unsure at this point. I think it's normal, but then again I'm not the one who got engaged after a few days together and told his mom "I don't think I love him, I KNOW I do". Starting out super confident and then becoming unsure usually spells trouble. I'm sure they have the best intentions and I can see them making it. But if they do, I will think it's because they got past the issues they had, not because they had none and it was some perfect love story since the wedding crashing date. JMO.

This is excellent advice and a good reminder on the best way to handle the outcome of this franchise each season.

C/W IMO have no time for anything right now other than Chris practising and getting people to vote for him and Whitney supporting him in any way she can. I'm pleasantly surprised to see the family pics and the support from both sides of the family after what must be exhausting days of practise.

I don't think they can possibly even think of wedding plans at this point in time, and I don't blame them. What's the rush. I'd rather they say nothing about wedding plans for a long time.

Whitney IMO is being very supportive of Chris and is letting him remain in the spotlight, and rightly so. We don't need to see endless pics boasting their relationship and throwing themselves down SM's throat, I much prefer this mature way they are handling themselves. JMHO
